Wellness Philosophy

Suzanne and I would like to share what we use for amazing improved health with dōTERRA™ Essential Wellness which is a company founded on a wellness philosophy of healthy lifestyle choices and informed proactive participation in one’s own healthcare alternatives. dōTERRA’s Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade™ essential oils and other wellness products are specifically formulated to support a wellness philosophy of eating right, exercising, resting and managing stress, and reducing toxic load. dōTERRA also teaches informed self care alternatives and encourages people to take a proactive role in their medical care. Our mission as a company is to teach people to live more healthy, productive lives and to share with others the blessing of a lifetime of wellness.

Eating Right
Eating right is a matter of quality and quantity. Our diets should be rich in foods with an abundance of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and enzymes. A healthy diet also includes low-fat sources of protein, moderate amounts of complex carbohydrates, and limited fats. Eating right means choosing fresh, whole, unprocessed foods and avoiding foods that are over processed and contain high levels of simple sugars and saturated fats.
We also find it easier to eat those hard to eat foods that are so good for you by Blending them for drinking.
The dōTERRA philosophy of eating right also includes the daily consumption of dietary supplements to ensure optimal levels of key nutrients that are essential for longevity and wellness.
Exercising
Regular, moderate exercise is essential for optimal physical and emotional wellness. Coupled with eating right, regular exercise can help one maintain healthy body weight and composition. Healthy activity begins with taking the stairs, walking to lunch, and generally having a “mentality of movement.” A more complete exercise program includes aerobic, and water aerobic activity, flexibility exercise, and strength training.
Rest and Manage Stress
Living healthy includes appropriate time for rest and relaxation. Regular sleep is an often skipped, but essential practice for optimal health. Managing stress is also important to maintaining good health. When we do not allow our bodies appropriate time for rest and regeneration, we can compromise our immune defenses and may become more prone to infection and disease. Chronic stress remains a significant health threat and has been tied to numerous degenerative conditions.
Reduce Toxic Load
In spite of our best efforts to practice good wellness habits, we can be exposed to toxic environmental stressors that can have deleterious effects on our health. Common toxic stressors include overexposure to UV rays, toxic ingredients in products throughout our homes, and chemical pollutants in our air and water. Being aware of these toxic threats to our health and choosing products that provide protection and peace of mind from such toxins are also important to optimal wellness.
Informed Self Care
When we experience sub-optimal heath conditions, there are many self-care alternatives that can provide safe and effective relief of symptoms and long-term solutions to problems. Reaching for a prescription or over-the-counter drug may not always be the best first alternative to taking care of one’s self when sick. dōTERRA’s therapeutic-grade essential oils and other wellness products are formulated to support the body’s own natural ability to keep itself healthy and can be used effectively in combination with traditional and alternative medical practices. (dōTERRA’s wellness products have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.)
Proactive Medical Care
When a person is suffering from acute sickness or has been diagnosed with a disease, it is important they seek out competent and qualified medical professionals for immediate help. It is also important they take a proactive role in their personal course of treatment by learning as much as they can about their health challenge and choosing a physician who will both inform and be open to information.

Following these healthy practices of eating right, exercising, resting and managing stress, reducing toxic load, practicing informed self care, and taking a proactive role in one’s medical care, coupled with the regular use of dōTERRA’s essential wellness products will help one live a healthier, longer life.

We all need to be constantly sharpened. This parable may encourage you to know that you are a special person, with unique God-given talents and abilities. Only you can fulfill the purpose which you were born to accomplish.
Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot be changed and, like the pencil, always remember that the most important part of who you are, is what’s inside of you and then allow yourself to be guided by the hand of God.
“And Amaziah said to the man of God, But what shall we do for the hundred talents which I have given to the army of Israel? And the man of God answered, The Lord is able to give thee much more than this.“ 2 Chr. 25: 9

What You Do Speaks So Loud That I Cannot Hear You Speak
By Alan on Jul 23 in Blog tagged bding kind, candle, good example, I cannot hear you speak, Jesus Christ, Let your Light so shine, teaching children, telling the truth, The Family, thefamiliy, what you DO speaks so loud | Comments Off
Teaching Your Children about Example.
Purpose: To encourage the children to let their lights shine as followers of Jesus Christ.
Whisper to your children and encourage them to do something for you during this week.
Have them share their experiences with showing kindness. (Continue to Whisper as you talk to your children.)
After a few minutes, explain that you were whispering as part of an experiment to show how people often do what other people around them are doing. Point out that your children started to whisper because you were whispering to them. They followed your example.
Tell your children that just as they followed your example, their friends often follow their examples.
Jesus Christ wants us to be good examples.
- What does it mean to be a good example?
Explain that their friends will often do what they see them do. If they see them doing good things and choosing the right, it will be easier for them to choose the right also.
Explain to them that when Jesus Christ lived on the earth, there were no electric lights. After the sun went down and it got dark, people sometimes burned candles in their homes so they would have light to see.
Tell your children that one day Jesus was teaching his disciples a lesson about being a good example to others (see Matthew 5:14–16). To help the disciples understand how their actions could help others, Jesus compared the actions to the light of a candle. Read aloud what Jesus told his disciples:
“Neither do men light a , and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.” Matthew 5:15
Object lesson
Put the candle under a basket or box.
- Ask: What would happen if it were dark and we lit the candle but then covered it with a basket (box)? (No one could see the light.)
Remove the basket or box and put the candle on a candlestick.
- What would happen if it were dark and we put the candle on a candlestick and then lit the candle? (The candle would give light to the room, and everyone would be able to see.)
Explain that Jesus wanted his disciples to be like the candle and give light to others. If the disciples followed Jesus’ teachings and were good examples, then other people would see what they should do.
We Can Let Our Lights Shine
Remind your children that Jesus is telling us to let our light shine. Emphasize the importance of letting our light shine by being good examples. Point out that we should follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Use the following situations or create some of your own:
- You have been playing all morning with some friends in your neighborhood and have been having lots of fun. After lunch a girl who is visiting the family across the street comes outside and looks like she wants to play with you. What do you do?
- Since you and your friends don’t know the girl and she doesn’t know what you’ve been playing, you don’t invite her to play with you.
- You say to your friends, “Let’s invite that new girl to come and play with us. She looks like she wants to play.”
- You are playing ball with your friends. You hit the ball hard, and it hits your neighbor’s window and cracks it. What do you do?
- You tell your neighbor that you were playing ball and you hit the ball so hard that it hit the window and cracked it. You explain that you are sorry and offer to pay for the broken window.
- You go look at the cracked window. Since it isn’t cracked very badly, you tell your friends that no one will ever notice it. You continue playing ball and try to be more careful.
- You are waiting in line for lunch at school. Some of the children in line get restless and start playing. The child behind you pushes you. What do you do?
- Stand in line without pushing anyone.

- Push the person who pushed you.
Remind the children how important it is to be a good example by choosing the right.
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Prov. 22: 6

The Lord’s Prayer – Cleverly Done!
By Alan on Jul 22 in Blog tagged The Family, The Lord's Prayer, thefamiliy | Comments Off
THE LORD’S PRAYER

Rather cleverly done. This is in two parts,
The prayer ( in blue type) and GOD (in red type )-in response.
*********
“Our Father Who Art In Heaven.
Yes?
Don’t interrupt me. I’m praying.
But — you called ME!
Called you?
No, I didn’t call you..
I’m praying.
Our Father who art in Heaven.
There — you did it again!
Did what?
Called ME.
You said,
“Our Father who art in Heaven”
Well, here I am..
What’s on your mind?
But I didn’t mean anything by it.
I was, you know, just saying my prayers for the day.
I always say the Lord’s Prayer.
It makes me feel good,
Kind of like fulfilling a duty.
Well, all right.
Go on.
Okay, Hallowed be thy name .
Hold it right there.
What do you mean by that?
By what?
By “Hallowed be thy name”?
It means, it means .. . Good grief,
I don’t know what it means.
How in the world should I know?
It’s just a part of the prayer.
By the way, what does it mean?
It means honored, holy, wonderful.
Hey, that makes sense..
I never thought about what ‘hallowed’ meant before.
Thanks.
Thy Kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Do you really mean that?
Sure, why not?
What are you doing about it?
Doing? Why, nothing, I guess.
I just think it would be kind of neat if you got
Control, of everything down here like you have up
There. We’re kinda in a mess down here you know.
Yes, I know;
But, have I got control of you?
Well, I go to church..
That isn’t what I asked you.
What about your bad temper?
You’ve really got a problem there, you know.
And then there’s the way you spend< /em>
Your money — all on yourself.
And what about the kind of books you read ?
Now hold on just a minute!
Stop picking on me!
I’m just as good as some of the rest
Of those People at church!
Excuse ME..
I thought you were praying
For my will to be done..
If that is to happen,
It will have to start with the ones
Who are praying for it.
Like you — for example ….
Oh, all right. I guess I do have some hang-ups.
Now that you mention it,
I could probably name some others.
So could I.
I haven’t thought about it very much until now,
But I really would like to cut out some of those things.
I would like to, you know, be really free.
Good.
Now we’re getting somewhere.
We’ll work together — You and ME.
I’m proud of You.
Look, Lord, if you don’t mind,
I need to finish up here.
This is taking a lot longer than it usually does.
Give us this day, our daily bread.
You need to cut out the bread..
You’re overweight as it is.
Hey, wait a minute! What is this?
Here I was doing my religious duty,
And all of a sudden you break in
And remind me of all my hang-ups.
Praying is a dangerous thing.
You just might get what you ask for.
Remember, you called ME — and here I am.
It’s too late to stop now.
Keep praying. ( pause .. . )
Well, go on.
I’m scared to.
Scared? Of what?
I know what you’ll say.
Try ME.
Forgive us our sins,
As we forgive those who sin against us.
What about Ann?
See? I knew it!
I knew you would bring her up!
Why, Lord, she’s told lies about me, spread stories.< /i>
She never paid back the money she owes me..
I’ve sworn to get even with her!
But — your prayer –
What about your prayer?
I didn’t — mean it..
Well, at least you’re honest.
But, it’s quite a load carrying around all that
bitterness and resentment isn’t it?
Yes, but I’ll feel better as soon as I get even with her.
Boy, have I got some plans for her.
She’ll wish she had never been born.
No, you won’t feel any better.
You’ll feel worse.
Revenge isn’t sweet.
You know how unhappy you are –
Well, I can change that.
You can? How?
Forgive Ann.
Then, I’ll forgive you;
And the hate and the sin,
will be Ann’s problem — not yours.
You will have settled the problem
as far as you are concerned.
Oh, you know, you’re right.
You always are.
And more than I want revenge,
I want to be right with You . . (sigh).
All right, all right . .
I forgive her.
There now!
Wonderful!
How do you feel?
Hmmmm. Well, not bad.
Not bad at all!
In fact, I feel pretty great!
You know, I don’t think I’ll go to bed uptight tonight.
I haven’t been getting much rest, you know.
Yeah, I know.
But, you’re not through with your prayer, are you?
Go on.
Oh, all right.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Good! Good! I’ll do that.
Just don’t put yourself in a place
where you can be tempted.
What do you mean by that?
You know what I mean.
Yeah. I know..
Okay.
Go ahead. Finish your prayer.
For Thine is the kingdom,
and the power,
and the glory forever.
Amen.
Do you know what would bring me glory?
What would really make me happy?
No, but I’d like to know.
I want to please you now…
I’ve really made a mess of things.
I want to truly behave like Christ
I can see now how great that would be.
So, tell me .. . .
How do I make you happy?
YOU just did”.

“You Are My Friend And I Will Follow You Anywhere.”
By Alan on Jul 12 in Blog tagged Come follow me, fans, friends, Jesus, Osmonds, The Family, thefamiliy, what is a friend | Comments Off
A FRIEND

My family and I have been performing around the world for over fifty plus years and have made so many friends. Many of them were fans of our music but they have become friends to us.

In a career such as music, one can only become successful if they have friends and followers who support them. We as a family have been so blessed with many wonderful friends who say, “We will support and follow you anywhere!” And, I honestly believe that they would! I have seen them do what they say!
Now, comes the responsibility on our part! Where are we leading them? What are we asking them to support …to Follow? What is it that thy like about us that makes them want to continue being our friends?
I honesly believe it is MORE than Just the Music! MORE than Just being celebrities in Show Business! It has to be a feeling from the heart that is pure and has no secret agendas. It has to be a feeling of true friendship. It has to be ‘True Love’! It is our responsibility for standing up and believing in those things that are true, everlasting and in living a life style that is consistent with what our Savior Jesus Christ when He said, “Come Follow Me.”
We are NOT Jesus, but we follow Him and wish to become like Him! We hope that all those who trust us will also put their trust in HIm! He is ‘The Way’!
What is the definition of a friend?
1. a person known well to another and regarded with liking, affection, and loyalty;
2. an acquaintance or associate
3. an ally in a fight or cause; supporter
4. a fellow member of a party, society, etc.
5. a patron or supporter; a friend of the operabe friends (with) to be friendly (with) make friends (with) to become friendly (with)
Our Fans/Friends are all of these!
We are living in troubled times when some who say they want to be friends are questionable. So what is it that makes one a true friend?
Here is a video that says it all when it comes to being a friend.
This is what WE WILL DO for all of our friends and WE KNOW that THEY, our friends, WILL DO THIS FOR US!

Essential Oils For Multiple Sclerosis

Hello friends!
I want to share with you some of the best essential oils that Suzanne and I have found that are 100% pure and are NOT diluted that really make a difference in one’s health. I know they really work!
We use them to keep from catching colds, helping with aches and pains, skin problems, warts, illnesses, arthritis, and many other sicknesses like the one I have, Multiple Sclerosis!
Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks and gradually destroys the myelin sheath (which covers and insulates the nerves) and the underlying nerve fibers of the central nervous system. This destruction of the myelin sheath interferes with communication between the brain and the rest of the body. Symptoms of MS include partial or complete loss of vision, tingling, burning, pain in parts of the body, tremors, loss of coordination, unsteady gait, dizziness, and memory problems.
