It Is So Much Easier To Be Righteous Than To Sin.

“It hasn’t always been easy to stay morally clean but it has been far easier than the alternative. I have never spent one second worrying about an unwanted pregnancy or disease. I have never had a moment’s anguish because a man used and then discarded me. When I do marry, I will do so without regret. I have yet to meet the man or woman who is happier because he or she was dishonest or because they were addicted to something or because they were immoral.” – Sheri Dew
To commit sin is to willfully disobey God’s commandments or to fail to act righteously despite a knowledge of the truth (James 4: 17).
The Lord has said that He “cannot look upon sin with the least degree of allowance” (D&C 1: 31). Sin results in the withdrawal of the Holy Ghost. It makes the one who sins unable to dwell in the presence of Heavenly Father, for “no unclean thing can dwell with God” (1 Ne. 10: 21).
Other than Jesus Christ, each person who has ever lived on earth has broken commandments or failed to act according to knowledge of the truth. The Apostle John taught: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, [Jesus Christ] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John. 1: 8-9). Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, each person can repent and be forgiven of these sins.

THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED…..
(By: VICKI PETERSON)
When my road seems the hardest,
And my soul is in despair,
When my heart is all broken,
And I feel it’s beyond repair.
When I’m sad & lonely,
Because no one seems to care,
I just look around me,
And it seems no one is there.
When my tears fall like a waterfall
And there’s no one to wipe them away.
I wonder why I even choose
To carry on another day?
I take the road less traveled,
I always try to do my part.
And all I seem to get,
Is another broken heart.
This time there’s so many pieces,
I doubt it will ever mend,
Where’s that special angel
The Lord promised to send?
Why am I all alone,
When He promised He’d be there?
Or someone else He’d send
As an answer to my prayer.
I don’t feel like praying,
I just can’t reason why,
When no one is listening anyway.
Why should I even try?
But then I bow my head to pray,
And get down on my knees,
Then I close my eyes,
And I let my spirit free.
As I begin to pray outloud,
And cry uncontrollably,
I feel my troubled soul & mind,
Start to feel light & free.
I feel the Savior’s presence,
And His loving arms surrounding me.
I am then reminded,
He’s the one who set me free.
He Himself felt all I have,
Not just for me but for all of mankind,
He swallowed the bitterest cup there was,
So our souls could be intertwined.
If I didn’t feel the sorrow,
The loneliness & the pain,
If I didn’t experience,
The sadness & the rain,
Then how did I expect to feel
The happiness & the love,
The colors of the rainbow,
And the blue sky up above?
If I didn’t experience,
The bad as well as the good,
Then how can I possibly help,
The others who are misunderstood?
I learned a valuable lesson today,
And it took a broken heart,
And a contrite spirit,
So the Lord could to me impart.
“Now, go out and help another,”
I feel He said to me.
“Now you know that you’re not alone,
Nor will you ever be.
You will still be tested,
That’s why you’re here on earth,
But now I hope you realize
What each soul is worth.
Everybody has a story,
And a reason why he’s here.
The road it isn’t easy,
But I tried to make it clear.
Go out & help another,
Share with him what you can
I gave My life for a reason,
There has always been a Plan.
Don’t dwell on the negative,
And don’t you ever forget to pray,
For I am always with you,
Even on the gloomiest of days.
Open your heart to the sunshine,
The laughter and the smiles,
For the road less traveled,
Will still go on for miles.
But since you know you’re not alone,
Give all you have to give,
To ALL your sisters & brothers.”
