Quit Trashing Obama’s Accomplishments

He has done more than any other President before him.  He has an impressive list of accomplishments:

- First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner.

- First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in.

- First President to preside over a cut to the credit-rating of the United States

- First President to violate the War Powers Act.

- First President to be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

- First President to require all Americans to purchase a product from a third party.

- First President to spend a trillion dollars on ‘shovel-ready’ jobs when there was no such thing as ‘shovel-ready’ jobs.

- First President to abrogate bankruptcy law to turn over control of companies to his union supporters.

- First President to by-pass Congress and implement the Dream Act through executive fiat.

- First President to order a secret amnesty program that stopped the deportation of illegal immigrants across the U.S. , including those with criminal convictions.

- First President to demand a company hand-over $20 billion to one of his political appointees.

- First President to tell a CEO of a major corporation (Chrysler) to resign.

-  First President to terminate America ‘s ability to put a man in space.

- First President to cancel the National Day of Prayer and to say that America is no longer a Christian nation.

- First President to have a law signed by an auto-pen without being present.

- First President to arbitrarily declare an existing law unconstitutional and refuse to enforce it.

- First President to threaten insurance companies if they publicly spoke-out on the reasons for their rate increases.

- First President to tell a major manufacturing company in which state it is allowed to locate a factory.

- First President to file lawsuits against the states he swore an oath to protect (AZ, WI, OH, IN).

- First President to withdraw an existing coal permit that had been properly issued years ago.

- First President to actively try to bankrupt an American industry (coal) 

- First President to fire an inspector general of Ameri-Corps for catching one of his friends in a corruption case.

- First President to appoint 45 czars to replace elected officials in his office.

- First President to surround himself with radical left wing anarchists.

- First President to golf 73 separate times in his first two and a half years in office, 102 to date.

- First President to hide his medical, educational and travel records.

- First President to win a Nobel Peace Prize for doing NOTHING to earn it.

- First President to go on multiple “global apology” tours and concurrent “insult our friends” tours.

- First President to go on 17 lavish vacations, including date nights and Wednesday evening White House parties for his friends paid for by the taxpayer.

- First President to have 22 personal servants (taxpayer funded) for his wife.

- First President to keep a dog trainer on retainer for $102,000 a year at taxpayer expense.

- First President to repeat the Holy Quran & tell us the early morning call of the Azan (Islamic call to worship) is the most beautiful sound on earth.

- First President to tell the military men and women that they should pay for their own private insurance because they “volunteered to go to war and knew the consequences. Then he was the First President to tell the members of the military that THEY were UNPATRIOTIC for balking at the last suggestion.

- First President to side with a foreign nation over one of the American 50 states ( Mexico vs Arizona ).

They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs.  Some of us are “Baby Boomers” getting ready to retire.  Others have been retired for some time.  We walk a little slower these days and our eyes and hearing are not what they once were.  We have worked hard, raised our children, worshiped our God and grown old together.  Yes, we are the ones some refer to as being over the hill, and that is probably true.  But before writing us off completely, there are a few things that need to be taken into consideration.

In school we studied English, history, math, and science which enabled us to lead America into the technological age.  Most of us remember what outhouses were; many of us with firsthand experience.  We remember the days of telephone party-lines, 25 cent gasoline, and milk and ice being delivered to our homes.  For those of you who don’t know what an icebox is, today they are electric and referred to as refrigerators.  A few even remember when cars were started with a crank.  Yes, we lived those days.

We are probably considered old fashioned and outdated by many.  But there are a few things you need to remember before completely writing us off.  We won World War II, fought in Korea and Viet Nam.  We can quote The Pledge of Allegiance, and know where to place our hand while doing so.  We wore the uniform of our country with pride and lost many friends on the battlefield.  We didn’t fight for the Socialist States of America; we fought for the “Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.”  We wore different uniforms but carried the same flag.  We know the words to the Star Spangled Banner, America, and  America the Beautiful by heart, and you may even see some tears running down our cheeks as we sing.  We have lived what many of you have only read in history books and we feel no obligation to apologize to anyone for America except to the Native American Indians whose history was erased.  They were referred to as savages and their works and sacred mounds were also destroyed by the Smithsonian so that they could legally justify taking their lands away without purchase. They were here before Columbus and Hopewell evidences of their civilization shows they had culture, worship, creative works and smelting of precious metals and ores plus astronomically aligned earthworks.  They were a highly intelligent people with writings in Hebrew, righteous and knowledgeable who lived the Mosaic laws.  Unlike their reputation with which we were left to remember them today, they will rise again.

Yes, we are old and slow these days but rest assured, we have at least one good fight left in us.  We have loved this country, fought for it, and died for it, and now we are going to save it.  It is our country and nobody is going to take it away from us.  We took oaths to defend America against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and that is an oath we plan to keep.  There are those who want to destroy this land we love but, like our founders, there is no way we are going to remain silent.

We have tasted socialism and have seen evil face to face, and have found you don’t like it after all.  You make a lot of noise, but most are all too interested in their careers or “Climbing the Social Ladder” to be involved in such mundane things as patriotism and voting.  Many of those who fell for the “Great Lie” in 2008 are now having buyer’s remorse.  With all the education we gave you, you didn’t have sense enough to see through the lies and instead drank the ‘Kool-Aid.’  We are now paying the price and complaining about it.  No jobs, lost mortgages, higher taxes, and less freedom.

This is what was voted for and this is what you got.  We entrusted you with the Torch of Liberty and you traded it for a paycheck and a fancy house.

Well, don’t worry youngsters, the Grey-Haired Brigade is here, and in 2012 we are going to take back our nation.  We may drive a little slower than you would like but we get where we’re going, and in 2012 we’re going to the polls by the millions.

This land does not belong to the man in the White House nor to the politicians.   It belongs to “We the People” and “We the People” plan to reclaim our land and our freedom.  We hope this time you will do a better job of preserving it and passing it along to our grandchildren.

So the next time you have the chance to say the Pledge of Allegiance, Stand up, put your hand over your heart, honor our country, and thank God for the old geezers of the “Grey-Haired Brigade.”

We Gray-Haired Geezers all over this once great county are coming together again.

Can you feel the ground shaking?  It’s not an earthquake, it is a STAMPEDE.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean NOT unto your own understanding.  In all your ways, acknowledge HIM and HE will direct your path!

JFK’S Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, was in France in the early 60′s when DeGaulle decided to pull out of NATO.  DeGaulle said he wanted all US military out of France as soon as possible.

Rusk responded “Does that include those who are buried here?”

DeGaulle did not respond.

There was a conference in France where a number of international engineers were taking part, including French and American.  During a break, one of the French engineers came back into the room saying ‘Have you heard the latest dumb stunt Bush has done? He has sent an aircraft carrier to Indonesia to help the tsunami victims.  What does he intended to do, bomb them?’

A Boeing engineer stood up and replied quietly:

‘Our carriers have three hospitals on board that can treat several hundred people; they are nuclear powered and can supply
emergency  electrical power to shore facilities; they have three  cafeterias with the capacity to feed 3,000 people three meals a day, they can produce several thousand gallons of fresh water from sea water each day, and they carry half a dozen helicopters for use in transporting victims and injured to and from their flight deck.  We have eleven such ships; how many does France have?’

A U.S. Navy Admiral was attending a naval conference that included Admirals from the U.S. , English, Canadian, Australian and French Navies. At a cocktail reception, he found himself standing with a large group of Officers that included personnel from most of those countries. Everyone was chatting away in English as they sipped their drinks but a French admiral suddenly complained that, whereas Europeans learn many languages, Americans learn only English. He then asked, ‘Why is it that we always have to speak English in these conferences rather than speaking French?’

Without hesitating, the American Admiral replied,

‘Maybe it’s because the Brit’s, Canadians, Aussie’s and Americans arranged it so you wouldn’t have to speak German.’

AND THIS STORY FITS RIGHT IN WITH THE ABOVE…

Robert Whiting, an elderly gentleman of 83, arrived in Paris by plane. At French Customs, he took a few minutes to locate his passport in his carry on.

“You have been to France before, monsieur?” the customs officer asked  sarcastically.

Mr. Whiting admitted that he had been to France previously.

“Then you should know enough to have your passport ready.”

The American said,

‘The last time I was here, I didn’t have to show it.”

“Impossible. Americans always have to show your passports on arrival in France !”

The American senior gave the Frenchman a long hard  look.  Then he quietly explained,

”Well, when I came ashore at Omaha Beach on D-Day in 1944 to help liberate this country, I couldn’t find a single Frenchmen to show a passport to.”

You could have heard a pin drop.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I could ramble on and on about some moments that mattered the most to me:

The day I was born, unlike my two older brothers, I could hear!;  Being a kid, bailing hay, milking cows, feeding chickens and working on our farm in Ogden and hoeing sugar beets;  Early days and singing as a barbershop quartet with my brothers, The Osmond Brothers;  When I did our first TV show with Eugene Jelesnick in SLC;  Got my Patriarchal Blessing;   Walt Disney spent time with us and personally taught us a clever hat routine for His show Disneyland After Dark;  Auditioning and performing on the Andy Williams shows for years;  Recorded our first  few music albums;  Taking pictures with my new gift, a Hasseblad camera in Sweden of Swedish Girls; Read the Book of Mormon; Wrote and recorded the first song that I wrote, called ‘Movin Along’; Receiving our first gold record;   So many photo sessions for Teen Magazines and those Wild Osmondmania days!; Two girls mailed themselves to us in a box!; Dick Clark promoted Jackson Five and us Osmonds on the same basic tour schedule and we passed each other on the road often;  Doing a Command Performance for Her Majesty, The Queen of England;  Building our recording studio by MGM’s;  Writing many more songs like Crazy Horses and especially my favorite, The Plan Album which was released in a blank album cover so the hard rock stations would play it – they did; Fought with Chuck Norris in a Karate class;  Boot Camp in Fort Ord, California and serving my country for six years in the military;  Left Andy Williams after 9 years to become a pop group and almost starved for the lack of work;  We finally made it; Helped with producing the Donny and Marie Shows in L.A.;  Built a TV and recording Studio in Utah and Executive Produced The Donny and Marie Shows;  Met with Mick Shannon and Joe Lake at our home and commited our Studios to begin the First Children’s Miracle Network Telethon;  Broke my brother Jay’s nose in Indianapolis;  Liked meeting Led Zepplin and Paul McCartney;  Elton John wanted to meet us at MGM;  Personally visiting with Elvis Presley who said he wanted to be a preacher, and later I received his Book of Mormon;  Dating and tired of it;   Prayed that I would meet my wife;  One week later was THE DAY I met Suzanne Pinegar!;  Married Suzanne 13 days later so she could go on the World tour as a wife and NOT a girlfriend;  Osmond’s World Tour (with Suzanne);  Built our dreamhome on Osmond Lane, Provo, Utah; Got Multiple Sclerosis;  Learned html and how to publish on the internet; Bought Osmond.com, thefamily.com plus several URL’s;   Worked with my brothers in Branson, Missouri for 9 years at our own theatre;  Had a son, Michal Alan Osmond; Had a son, Nathan George Osmond;  Had a son, Douglas Kenneth Osmond who was born premature; Served as Branch President at Provo Canyon School Ward;   Had a son, David Levi Osmond;  Had a son, Scott Merrill Osmond;  Served on High Council for six years in Edgemont Stake;  Was a Cub Master;  Was made a Seventy by Paul H. Dunn; Had a son, Jonathan Pinegar Osmond;  Co-produced Ronald Reagan’s Innagural Ball and Parade; Wrote and published the Twice Upon A Time Children’s books; Had a son, Alexander Thomas Osmond;  Had a son, Tyler James Osmond;  Received a Sesac Award for Producing Best Music Video; Quit touring and went home to Utah to be a good husband and Father; Created Stadium of Fire and wrote the theme song with 25 years of sell outs and it’s still going strong with menow as a Trustee;  Set a Guinnes Book of Records by lighting 1,000,000 firecrackers in six seconds!;  Built a Cabin in Fairview, Utah;  Moved to Branson, Missouri for Osmond Family Theate;  Started a 501(c)(3) non profit company called One Heart Foundation in the Heart of America; Served as first councilor in two Branson Ward Bishoprics;   Had to quit Performing because of M.S.;   Moved back our Ranch we built in Fairview, Utah;  Missing both my Mother and Father who passed away;   I was the first to see Father laying there and kissed his head and said, “Save me a place up there”;   Joined my family on The Osmonds 50th Anniversary World Tour;  Served eight more years as High Councilor in Suncrest Stake;  Called to be a Temple Ordinance worker;  Also, called as a Ward Missionary;    Saw all eight of my sons receive their Eagle Scout Award; Witnessed my Six sons getting married in the Temple for time and for all eternity to some wonderful girls.  Received over a period of time, twenty (20) grandchildren!;  Still enjoy writing more songs and publishing daily thefamily.com and getting really good hits;  Remembering all the hard work in raising kids, getting stitches and fixing broken bones; taking them to school; tough schools in Branson, MO where thy got spit on and knives pulled on them;   Sons served  as full time missionaries in Denmark, Chili, South Africa, Spain, Paraguay, Brazil, Atlant, Georgia; Known musically as the Osmonds Second Generation; They hadad 4 top 20 singles in the U.K.; I told them to get real jobs; encouraged boys to get good educations;  Some moments that matter most is in knowing that Suzanne Loves me;  I wrote a song about her called, ‘True Love’;  She is my partner, my care giver and is keeping me well with good healthy foods, blending and essential oils with lots of water and a little natural salt plus tender loving care; I love it when our gradkids call me PaPa and hug me; Suzanne and I are empty nesters yet she cooks huge meals on Sunday afternoon and Monday for Family Nights where they all come to our home; also the fact that my sons honor me and still call me Father;  I worry about our Country and the World situatiions; I Know that Jesus Christ is returning soon; I’m hoping to live to see His return;  We know how things end;  Knowing that my Eternal partner, Suzanne and I are sealed together forever with all of our children gives me peace;  It is that which she gave to me that is THE GREATEST MOMENT in my life, and that which matters the most, when Suzanne brought into this world eight wonderful sons and made me a Father.  It’s a pattern of life. There is God the Father, and his Son Jesus Christ, There was my Great Grand father and his son, my grand father and my Father, I am a Father and Now my sons are Fathers!  God said, “For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.”  Moses 1: 39
Our Father in Heaven is happy watching us do the same and in becoming and celebrating Fathers Day, ourselves!
