In Whom Do You Trust?
… to operate on your brain?
… to repair your expensive computer?
… to make you well?
… to share your life with?
We have now moved into another year and find ourselves looking deep within our hearts, minds, souls, and mirrors as we set new goals, commit to new promises and make New Year’s Resolutions!
In doing so, we think about what is most needed, most desired and most important to us. We want to improve our lives, our living conditions and experience those things that bring us the most happiness. We also think about certain individuals that we wish to spend more time with and to do fun and exciting things together exeriencing the best of life. So basically, we make a list of to do’s and not to do’s for the coming year. It is that process of making priorities and choices that I wish to discuss with you here.
Scarcely an hour of the day goes by but what we are called 
uponto make choices of one sort or another. Some are trivial, some more far-reaching. Some will make no difference in the big picture of things, and others will make all the difference in the world. Choices all come with consequences and fall into three categories: the right of choice, the responsbility of choice, and the results of choice.
We should always try to make the right choices and fix any wrong choices we may make. Each of us were born with all the tools necessary to make correct choices and with a concience, education, experiences, wisdom, and a spirit within us to help us decide and choose well.
In our journey through life we will encounter forks and turnings in the road but we cannot afford the luxury of a detour from which we may never return. In today’s world there are forces of good but also forces of evil that may pacify and lull us into carnal 
security saying there is no wrong . . . which can lead us carefully down to misery! Should we ever find ourselves in that situation, we must decide and ask ourself if it is a promise of momentary pleasure that urges our passions or is it the pressure of your peers? It is then that you need to have the courage to say no, the courage to say yes, knowing that decisions do determine destiny.
The best way to deal with those things is to decide right now what choices you will make and to not deviate from your goals that you choose. If we then make the wrong choices, we have no one to blame but ourselves. We all have made incorrect choices. If we have not already corrected such choices, this is a good time and there is a way to do so. The process is called repentance where you can make your way back to good grace and find the sweet peace and joy that comes with the miracle of forgiveness. A scripture remind us that, “Man is that he might have joy”. (That is for women, also!)
We are living in the best of times when so many options and choices are available to us. We must prepare to meet the challenges of today by becoming good people, educated, and trained in skills that can provide financial income to do what ever your dreams are in life. You must be strong physically and take good care of your body and mind. Talk good talk and think good thoughts! ”You become what you think about!”
We need to enjoy all that is good in life to search and find that someone special that will be your best friend and partner in life with a committment to love, marry, and raise a family together. You can make it by enduring to the end, and being of one heart and mind and of one purpose. In making choices of this nature, it requires a spiritual understanding of who you are, why you are here and where you are going. We are not here by accident! God has a great “plan of life” that He prepared for His children, of which we are! The greatness of this world did not come about because we are so smart and clever. It is because God loves His children and has prepared this world for us so that we can experience and learn to become more like Him.
So go and start today, if you already haven’t. Ponder and pray for inspiration that you may choose the direction you wish and find happiness. It will take work. Nothing good comes easy! An education, a career, a family, they all come with hard work!
Be careful not to be deceived. Today there are so many conspiring men and works of darkness and temptations with offers to get rich quick, to live now and pay later, telling you that there is nothing wrong with living together recklessly and experiencing all there is in life. When you face those things and choices, you must be strong and realize who you are listening to and to whom you trust!
There are opposites in all things! Good and bad, right and wrong, male and female, pleasure and pain! Take the higher way, the proven way, the stronger way because,
“The weak things of the world shall come forth and break down the mighty and strong ones, that man should not counsel his fellow man, neither trust in the arm of flesh” (D&C 1:19).
To rephrase that warning: even though you may be learned in the ways of the world, don’t forget the power of God. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).
Please do not misunderstand me. We need to prepare for worthy work to do. Yes, we do need to do our work well, whatever we choose to do in life. We need to be able to render significant service as well as spending time enjoying life.
And before we can achieve that competence, we need an education. With us, education is a religious responsibility. The glory of God really is intelligence (see D&C 93:36). And, the learning of man has its limitations. Sometimes, the combined learning of many experts cannot be applied when we need it most. We have to place our trust in the Lord as we work towards our ultimate priorities and highest destinies as mortal beings.
We know that a doctor’s ultimate destination is not in the hospital.
For a lawyer, it is not in the courtroom.
For a jet pilot, it is not in the cockpit of a Boeing 747.
Each person’s chosen occupation is only a means to an end; it is not an end in itself.
The end for which each of us should strive is to be the person that you can become—the person who God wants you to be. The day will come when your professional career will end. The career that you will have labored so hard to achieve—the work that will have supported you and your family—will one day be behind you. Then you will have learned this great lesson:
Much more important than what you do for a living…
is what kind of person you have become.
When you leave this frail existence, what you have become will matter most. Attributes such as “faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, [and] diligence” (D&C 4:6) will all be weighed in the Lord’s balance.
From time to time, ask yourself these questions:
“Am I ready to meet my Maker?”
“Am I worthy of all the blessings He has in store for His faithful children?”
“Have I remained faithful to my promises and covenants?”
“Have I qualified for the greatest of all God’s blessings—the blessing of eternal life?” (see
D&C 14:7).
Those who cherish their faith in God—those who trust in Him—have been given this scriptural promise: “Let no man glory in man, but rather let him glory in God. … These shall dwell in the presence of God and his Christ forever and ever” (D&C 76:61–62).
May that be the ultimate resolution and destiny for each of us in 2013 and beyond!

…Turn The Heart Of The Children To The Fathers
Where did we come from?
Why are we here?
Where do we go after this life?
Through family history work, we can learn about our ancestors and increase our love for them. We can be inspired by their stories of courage and faith. We can pass that legacy on to our children. All of the family history endeavors are directed to the need to form a “welding link—between the fathers and the children” (D&C 128: 18).
We are participants in Heavenly Father’s plan, and our eternal experience can be divided into three main parts:
-
Premortal life,
-
Mortal life,
-
Life after death.
As we come to understand the plan, we find answers to questions asked by so many: Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where do we go after this life?
Premortal Life
Before we were born on the earth, we lived in the presence of our Heavenly Father as one of His spirit children. In this premortal existence, we attended a council with Heavenly Father’s other spirit children. At that council, Heavenly Father presented His great plan of happiness (see Abraham 3: 22-26).
In harmony with the plan of happiness, the premortal Jesus Christ, the Firstborn Son of the Father in the spirit, covenanted to be the Savior (see Moses 4: 2; Abr. 3: 27). Those who followed Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ were permitted to come to the earth to experience mortality and progress toward eternal life. Lucifer, another spirit son of God, rebelled against the plan and “sought to destroy the agency of man” (Moses 4: 3). He became Satan, and he and his followers were cast out of heaven and denied the privileges of receiving a physical body and experiencing mortality (see Moses 4: 4; Abraham 3: 27-28).
Throughout our premortal lives, we developed our identity and increased our spiritual capabilities. Blessed with the gift of agency, we made important decisions, such as the decision to follow Heavenly Father’s plan. These decisions affected our life then and now. We grew in intelligence and learned to love the truth, and we prepared to come to the earth, where we could continue to progress.
Mortal Life
We are now experiencing mortal life. Our spirits are united with our bodies, giving us opportunities to grow and develop in ways that were not possible in premortal life. This part of our existence is a time of learning in which we can prove ourselves, choose to come unto Christ, and prepare to be worthy of eternal life. It is also a time when we can help others find the truth and gain a testimony of the plan of salvation.
Life after Death
When we die, our spirits will enter the spirit world and await the resurrection. At the time of the resurrection, our spirit and body will reunite, and we will be judged and received into a kingdom of glory. The glory we inherit will depend on the depth of our conversion and our obedience to the Lord’s commandments (see Kingdoms of Glory). It will depend on the manner in which we have “received the testimony of Jesus” (D&C 76: 51; see also D&C 76: 74, 79, 101).
Blessings through Knowledge of the Plan
A testimony of the plan of salvation can give us hope and purpose as we wrestle with the challenges of life. We can find reassurance in the knowledge that we are children of God and that we lived in His presence before being born on the earth. We can find meaning in our present life, knowing that our actions during mortality influence our eternal destiny. With this knowledge, we can base important decisions on eternal truths rather than on the changing circumstances of life. We can continually improve our relationships with family members, rejoicing in the promise that our families can be eternal. We can find joy in our testimonies of the Atonement and the Lord’s commandments, ordinances, covenants, and doctrines, knowing that “he who doeth the works of righteousness shall receive his reward, even peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come” (D&C 59: 23).
We call upon responsible citizens and officers of government everywhere to promote those measures designed to maintain and strengthen the family as the fundamental unit of society.

This has been an exciting and wonderful yet challenging year! Suzanne and I and the staff at TheFamily.com all wish to thank you for your support and involvement in helping to promote the cause of Strengthening The Family. We all are a part of God’s family and we appreciate your willingness to let us come into your homes.
We have great excitement for 2012 as we step forward with faith into this upcoming year knowing that we are living in the BEST and the WORST of times ever. How exciting to be alive today and experiencing the joys of family, marriage, children, and living your life in a loving home and sharing it together with those you love. These and great memories and are the only things that we keep forever and take with us when we graduate from this world. The Family is God’s Plan of Life and we should enjoy it together!
We have a Newsletter starting in January called Get NOI-Z (Noisy) and we hope that you will subscribe to it. We wish to share personal and direct ways to help “Turn The World Around” and become stronger Grandparents, Fathers, Mothers, Teenagers, Children, and Families that are actively engaged in making this world a better place to live. By learning and maintaining strong principles, values with integrity we as individuals and families can become as the people of Enoch who long ago were known as “the happiest people that ever lived”.
We try to reach out to everyone with our family messages as the Lord has told us in scripture, “But with some I am not well pleased, for they will not open their mouths, but they hide the talent which I have given unto them, because of the fear of man. Wo unto such, for mine anger is kindled against them.” D&C 60:2
It is TIME that we Stand Up, “Open our Mouths”, and speak out for the good in this world. We must open our arms and hearts to our neighbors and love them as ourselves. If we do this, we will be “Of One Heart” and “One Mind” and will turn this “NOIZ” world around and become a 
“ZION” people. . . ‘the happiest people that ever lived’! Moses 7: 18-19

Welcome to ‘The Way’ Newsletter to help
“Strengthen Families”!
As I reflect upon all of the turmoil in the world and unexpected changes happening to many families, with lost values, wars and rumor of wars, unrest and evil doers with lies and half truths by conspiring men trying to sway you and take away your freedoms and your money. I have been pondering my heart and praying as to what I should publish to all of my friends. I remember hearing that the best things are those that come from the heart. So, here goes!
It seems that things are moving so fast these days and that there are always headlines of warnings, cautions, alerts, and latest news headlines with program interruptions bringing us special announcements. We see troubles and revolutions arising all over this world of ours. We hear of stealing, robberies, child molesting, drug busts, earthquakes, wars, murders, abortions, divorces, collusions, marriage being re-defined and confusion on what is a family, with lust, greed, lies and dishonest dealings even in the White House. These are things that we have been warned about in the scriptures for many years. In fact, in 1973 my brothers and I even wrote a song about today where we mentioned certain things that were prophesied would happen; and if that’s what we see, “It’s Gotta Be The Last Days”! Well, take a look around. We are there now! It can’t get much worse we say… but if we read the scriptures, it will! Yet, there is hope and we know how things will happen and end up. We just need to make choices to be there!
Are you ready to stand up, defend your rights, protect your family and loved ones, help those who are downhearted and starving, hurting, and even dying in the streets? Are you ready for wars among nations, even here in America over money, power, riches, glory, and pride with rising costs and food and gasoline shortages? Those are all workings of Satan, and his devilish desires. He is a loser and wants company.
It seems that everybody nowadays is looking for a “Change” in this world. A new World Order, guaranteed pensions with health and retirement funds, marriage with same sex couples, abortions without responsibility, vacations and the luxury’s of life because you deserve it, where anything goes. What happened to those values and principles that we grew up with and success by hard work that our ancestors taught us? The truths that I was taught and raised with says you get what you earn. God is the same and never changing with which various mansions or glories in heaven we can receive. But, you must earn it! The things that we should be looking for in this life are those things that NEVER CHANGE! Such are the ways of God’s Plan of life and The Family. God is the same yesterday, today and forever and so should we, His children.
We seem to have lost that loving feeling and don’t care about others, but have become self oriented and prideful with a focus on the “me” and are only concerned about our own and oneself? Have our hearts become so hardened that we don’t take the time or care enough about the unborn, the aged, the hungry and others who are suffering? We need to quit looking in the mirror and start looking more out the windows of life and into the hearts and needs of others. This is what Jesus taught. Have our values and beliefs in God and His son Jesus Christ become so outdated and taken with deaf ears and a backseat while we strive to live in a new and changed world of stardom, riches, and self serving broken promises and lost values for the lists and sensations of the “natural man” which is an enemy to God? Are our families, our marriages and homes lost and replaced with worldly pleasures and treasures, lacking loving communication and order, with unclean, dishonest, cheating, lies, truce breaking, mortgaged desires, devalued and with no higher learning and with uncaring and lustful hearts seeking after the pleasures of the natural man and woman? We should be seeking for those things that never change and are everlasting and eternal!
Well, here is some advice from our staff at The Family.
Simplify, make good choices. Choose those things which will get you closest to your God. He is in charge. Organize yourselves, prepare every needful thing, and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God. Prioritize your time with those who really are most important and make a difference in your life, your family. Take the time to listen to your spouse and children. Do things together and for those whom you love and for whom you would risk your life and desire to be with forever; even after death and into the next life for all eternity!
Yes, we are living in a day where we need to make good choices and to choose well! We have the freedom and the power to choose! We fought for those freedoms in the world of our pre-existent lives. Those decisions we made before we were born into this world determined where we now are and the conditions in which we live. We are living in a day when we need as much help, truth and light as possible that we may see The Way and follow the light and the Path towards our eternal home and future. Our heavenly parents, are watching over us as well as the spirit of the Holy Ghost who is there to help guide us and to lead us with whispering to our hearts on how to choose the right way and to stay on and get through that straight path to that narrow gate which leads us back home again. Do we really think that God would create us and then leave us, His children, unattended? No! We must have faith and hope and work hard never giving up. That is how we open the doors of tomorrows where we will receive the rewards of our good works here on earth. We are going to this school of life and are definitely being tested to see if we are worthy to receive even greater blessings and powers. We all will live forever and so those weaknesses and tests we get just make us stronger. Those decisions we make now will determine where we will go and in which mansion or glory we will be able to dwell in the kingdoms of heaven.
Here are some more suggestions:
Choose ye this day whom ye will serve. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Fast, tithe 10%, pray and read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and other forthcoming witnesses of Jesus Christ and be converted to the Lord’s ways and to His church.
We have been given commandments to live and to follow since the world began. It would be wise to obey them and keep them. They are NOT suggestions, but are God’s commandments. They are contained in the scriptures which are God’s words through His prophets.
We need more kindness and love and to become better neighbors and friends of all Christian churches with a common goal to protect our freedoms and to choose the right. We need to feed our bodies good foods and eat well and avoid drugs, pornography, and unhealthy stimulants to our bodies and minds.
Your church leaders must have the authority to perform those necessary sacred life saving ordinances here on the earth today. Make sure they do. In order to get to the highest heaven, you must repent of your sins and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. You then need to do as even Jesus did and be baptized by one who has the authority given him and can be traced back to Jesus Christ. You then need to receive the Holy Ghost to be your constant companion to help lead and guide you. Again, being done by someone with the authority. All churches teach good things but only Jesus’s church has the authority to bind in heaven as well as here on earth. Authority is a major issue and needs to be addressed. It must be recognized of God.
You should not have any premarital relations before marriage and then marry the person of your dreams and be true and faithful in your covenants as you keep God’s commandment to multiply and replenish the earth. This is a commandment. The proclamation to the world states that marriage is ordained of God between a man and a woman. Creation of life cannot happen otherwise and your exaltation here after will be stopped. If you have sinned, you need to confess and repent and be washed clean to be forgiven. To get to the highest heaven, you will need to be baptized, endowed and be married for time and for all eternity and have your children sealed to you forever in The House of The Lord, or Temple, and not just be together until death do you part! If your were married in the Temple before you had children, those children you have will automatically be sealed to you forever. If you haven’t, now is the time to prepare for the Temple and have your children eternally sealed to you and to get it done before it is too late. Only in the Lord’s House, or Temple, can you do these things as the keys which are required were restored by Elijah the Prophet. This is an ordinance that even the prophet Abraham knew and of which he spoke. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are the only ones with Temples for this purpose.
Your must put on the ‘Armor of Christ’ and endure to the end.
Be prepared. If ye are prepared ye shall not fear. Put some extra food and money away in storage for that rainy day as it will come.
You need to be honest and pay a full tithe of 10% to the Lord’s church.
You need to have a firm testimony of Jesus Christ, a pure heart and a contrite spirit and be willing to give all that you have if necessary to those In need.
Stay positive! Endure To the End! As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.
Then, enjoy the ride as Jesus Christ is soon going to return to earth to perform His amazing miracles and to rule this world for one thousand years. The earth will then be renewed and receive it’s paradisiacal glory.
God lives. He is not the author of confusion. He did NOT create us to have evil ways but knows that we will be tempted and have choices that we should make. Many today try to change God’s laws and principles and live without values and principles. To change The Way that God designed us would almost be like trying to change gravity. You can’t! It won’t work!
These are things that I can highly recommend. There is only One Way to get to the highest degree of glory in heaven where God dwells and that is as a forever family worthy of God’s creative powers. Jesus is The Way! Yes, there are other glories of heaven like unto the star, the moon and the sun. So also is the resurection. God dwells at the highest of the highest kingdom and mansions of heaven! Our Heavenly parents are counting on us to to do well, to become creators of life and be immortal and have eternal life as we, their children, are their ‘work and their glory’. Lets all strive to be with them, again.
