The Family
My brother and sister, Donny and Marie Osmond, really hit the ‘nail on the head’ with this music video, ”The Good Life”.
Life’s greatest joys are found in the family. Strong family relationships require effort, but such effort brings great happiness in this life and throughout eternity. In our Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness, a man and a woman can be sealed to one another for time and all eternity. Those who are sealed in the temple have the assurance that their relationship will continue forever if they are true to their covenants. They know that nothing, not even death, can permanently separate them.
The covenant of eternal marriage is necessary for exaltation. The Lord revealed through Joseph Smith: “In the celestial glory there are three heavens or degrees; and in order to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this order of the priesthood [meaning the new and everlasting covenant of marriage]; and if he does not, he cannot obtain it. He may enter into the other, but that is the end of his kingdom; he cannot have an increase” (D&C 131:1-4).
After receiving the sealing ordinance and making sacred covenants in the temple, a couple must continue in faithfulness in order to receive the blessings of eternal marriage and exaltation. The Lord said:
“If a man marry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, and it is sealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of promise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have appointed this power and the keys of this priesthood; . . . and if [they] abide in my covenant, . . . it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world” (D&C 132:19).
Those who are married should consider their union as their most cherished earthly relationship. A spouse is the only person other than the Lord whom we have been commanded to love with all our heart (see D&C 42:22).
Marriage, in its truest sense, is a partnership of equals, with neither person exercising dominion over the other, but with each encouraging, comforting, and helping the other.
Because marriage is such an important relationship in life, it needs and deserves time over less-important commitments. Couples can strengthen their marriage as they take time to talk together and to listen to one another, to be thoughtful and respectful, and to express tender feelings and affection often.
Marriage partners must be loyal to one another and faithful in their marriage covenants in thought, word, and deed. The Lord has said, “Thou shalt love thy wife with all thy heart, and shalt cleave unto her and none else” (D&C 42:22). The phrase “none else” teaches that no person, activity, or possession should ever take precedence over the marriage relationship.
Married couples should stay away from anything that could lead to unfaithfulness in any way. Pornography, unwholesome fantasies, and flirtations will erode character and strike at the foundation of marriage.
Couples should work together to manage their finances and cooperate in establishing and following a budget. Wise money management and freedom from debt contribute to peace in the home.
Finally, couples must center their lives in the gospel of Jesus Christ. As couples help one another keep the covenants they have made, attend church and the temple together, study the scriptures together, and kneel together in prayer, God will guide them. Their companionship will sweeten through the years; their love will strengthen. Their appreciation for one another will grow.

SALT LAKE CITY — One unprecedented thing to emerge from the 2012 Legislature centers on education reform. Not so much the bill, but the way freshman Sen. Aaron Osmond proposed it.
Aaron Osmond has signed, sealed and delivered his first Legislative hit. He’s following in the footsteps, of Donny and Marie Osmond, winning over fans and gaining a following.

“The first question they ask me is, ‘Are you related to Donny?’” the senator said.
It shouldn’t be unprecedented that we go out and listen to and interact with our educators when we’re trying to figure out how to fix public education.

The answer is yes — and that doesn’t hurt his fan base. Aaron Osmond has become a superstar among teachers, an innovator. It’s an interesting concept, since his efforts to reform education include issues like performance pay and teacher termination — issues teachers usually oppose.
“I think that he is the teacher’s godsend,” said Jo Egelund, a local teacher.
“It’s so nice to see a senator come out of the legislature and actually talk to teachers,” added teacher Mallory Meyer.
Aaron Osmond recently went on tour — a listening tour. He visited a more than a dozen schools, met with 1,000 teachers and responded to more than 500 emails before the 2012 legislative session began.

A House debate about Utah public school classrooms having to recite the Pledge of Allegiance every day drew patriotic speeches, some warnings and a little anger.
“It shouldn’t be unprecedented that we go out and listen to and interact with our educators when we’re trying to figure out how to fix public education,” the senator said.
He wowed his “critics” by not only listening to, but adopting their feedback and changing his legislation.
“This truly does represent a step forward in ensuring that we have quality teachers in every classroom,” said Larry Shumway, Utah’s state superintendent.
Will Sen. Osmond be a one-hit wonder? Not likely, he’s running again to fill another term in the Legislature.
Aaron Osmond said.
“The No. 1 thing he learned is that to improve education we need to focus more in principals, not just teachers.”

There are many ways and it takes several specialists to advise in areas of Physically, Mentally, Spiritually, Socially, Financially, Emotionally, etc.

As I look back to when the Winter Olympics came to Salt Lake City, I remember being involved with the Mitt Romney and the Olympic Committee with our One Heart Charity for Strengthening Families. My father, George Osmond and brother and sister Donny and Marie Osmond, helped carry the torch for the Opening Ceremones.

FOR FAMILY PIN COLLECTING
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (April 21, 2001) – The Osmonds – Second Generation today were named the official ambassadors for family pin collecting for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games by Aminco International, the exclusive manufacturer of pins for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games. The Osmonds – Second Generation – sons of original Osmond’s member, Alan Osmond – will work with Aminco to teach other families about pin trading as a family hobby.
As official pin ambassadors, the Osmonds – Second Generation will work with Aminco in the coming months to host family events focusing on pin collecting and trading. The events will take place throughout Utah and will be free to all families. Additionally, Aminco plans to partner with the One Heart Foundation, www.oneheart.org, a non-profit organization founded by Alan Osmond, dedicated to raising funds and awareness to strengthen families throughout North America. Activities include releasing an official lapel pin with the One Heart logo and the 2002 Salt Lake Olympic mark next month. One Heart also plans to have a pin collecting and trading page at the organization’s web site, located atwww.osmond.com.
“Family pin collecting is a way for families to spend time together through an exciting and rewarding hobby that attracts all generations,” said Osmond, founder and chairman of the One Heart Foundation. “One Heart is committed to strengthening individuals by activities, such as pin collecting, that unite families. Did you happen to see Joy Behar’s TV show where she had my brother and sister, Donny and Marie on?
It was so fun to watch as she asked them every personal question she could and still, Donny and Marie told it like it is! They reminded her that some things are NOT SECRET . . . they are SACRED!
They got into Mormonism and I too, must say, There are a lot of things said about our religion that are NOT true. So, if you want to know about Mormons, ASK A MORMON! A GOOD MORMON . . . not just someone who knows one or used to be one because he or she couldn’t live the laws and truths.
Our Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is the fastest growing world wide church today! We have sacred Temples, The House of the Lord, all over the world, as Marie mentioned, where we get married, NOT ‘Till Death Do You Part’ . . . BUT FOR ‘TIME AND FOR ALL ETERNITY’! NOW , THAT’S what we call, ETERNAL LOVE!
We also believe that families should be together forever and besides the husband and wife being sealed together, the children are also sealed to the parents for all eternity. That’s FOREVER! . . . And, that’s the way it should be! . . . We believe.
