We all have our free agency and God holds us accountable for the way we use it in thought and deed. "Kindness, compassion, and love are powerful instruments in strengthening us to carry heavy burdens imposed without any fault of our own and to do what we know to be right."

Miracles Are Everywhere To Be Found

the family

Miracles are everywhere to be found when the
priesthood is understood, its power is honored
and used properly, and faith is exerted.

The divine, magnifying, and strengthening power can
come to us through priesthood blessings by those
who have been ordained and given the Priesthood.

the family
Jesus Christ Ordained His Twelve Apostles
to be his closest disciples and helpers
during his ministry on earth with
the Priesthood.
Luke 6:13John 15:16

He sent them forth to represent him and to minister
for him after his ascension into heaven.

Apostles

Both anciently and in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles
in the restored Church today, an Apostle is a
special witness of Jesus Christ in all the world to testify
of his divinity and of his resurrection from the dead.
Acts 1:22; D&C 107:23

John the Baptist conferred the Aaronic Priesthood
on Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery in
Harmony, Pennsylvania
D&C 13; JS—H 1:71–72

the family

The Melchizedek Priesthood was restored to the earth
in these last days by the ministry of Peter, James, and John,
who literally came to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery
in the spring of 1829 and conferred this power and
authority upon them (D&C 27:12–13).

Elijah2

Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery
in the Kirtland Temple. Moses, Elias, and Elijah
appeared and conveyed priesthood keys (see D&C 110).

TodayMiracles Are Everywhere To Be Found!

Note:  Worthy men in our church, age 12 and older, may receive the Priesthood by one with authority in order to administrate and to bless others.  Personal worthiness is required to receive and exercise the sacred power of the holy priesthood which we hold today.

the familyPresident Thomas S. Monson, Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says, “The rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and … the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness.

“That they may be conferred upon us, it is true; but when we undertake to cover our sins, or to gratify our pride, our vain ambition, or to exercise control or dominion or compulsion upon the souls of the children of men, in any degree of unrighteousness, behold, the heavens withdraw themselves; the Spirit of the Lord is grieved; and when it is withdrawn, Amen to the priesthood or the authority of that man.”1  D&C 121

Brethren, that is the definitive word of the Lord concerning His divine authority. We cannot be in doubt as to the obligation this places upon each of us who bear the priesthood of God.

We have come to the earth in troubled times. The moral compass of the masses has gradually shifted to an “almost anything goes” position.

I’ve lived long enough to have witnessed much of the metamorphosis of society’s morals. Where once the standards of the Church and the standards of society were mostly compatible, now there is a wide chasm between us, and it’s growing ever wider.

the familyMany movies and television shows portray behavior which is in direct opposition to the laws of God. Do not subject yourself to the innuendo and outright filth which are so often found there. The lyrics in much of today’s music fall in the same category. The profanity so prevalent around us today would never have been tolerated in the not-too-distant past. Sadly, the Lord’s name is taken in vain over and over again. Recall with me the commandment—one of the ten—which the Lord revealed to Moses on Mount Sinai: “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.”2 I am sorry that any of us is subjected to profane language, and I plead with you not to use it. I implore you not to say or to do anything of which you cannot be proud.

Stay completely away from pornography. Do not allow yourself to view it, ever. It has proven to be an addiction which is more than difficult to overcome. Avoid alcohol and tobacco or any other drugs, also addictions which you would be hard pressed to conquer.

What will protect you from the sin and evil around you? I maintain that a strong testimony of our Savior and of His gospel will help see you through to safety. If you have not read the Book of Mormon, read it.  The Holy Ghost will manifest its truth to you. It is true—and Joseph Smith was a prophet who saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. The Church is true. If you do not already have a testimony of these things, do that which is necessary to obtain one. It is essential for you to have your own testimony, for the testimonies of others will carry you only so far. Once obtained, a testimony needs to be kept vital and alive through obedience to the commandments of God and through regular prayer and scripture study. Attend church. You young men, attend seminary or institute if such is available to you.

the familyShould there be anything amiss in your life, there is open to you a way out. Cease any unrighteousness. Talk with your bishop. Whatever the problem, it can be worked out through proper repentance. You can become clean once again. Said the Lord, speaking of those who repent, “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow,”3 “and I, the Lord, remember them no more.”4

The Savior of mankind described Himself as being in the world but not of the world.5 We also can be in the world but not of the world as we reject false concepts and false teachings and remain true to that which God has commanded.

Now, I have thought a lot lately about you young men who are of an age to marry but who have not yet felt to do so. I see lovely young ladies who desire to be married and to raise families, and yet their opportunities are limited because so many young men are postponing marriage.

This is not a new situation. Much has been said concerning this matter by past Presidents of the Church. I share with you just one or two examples of their counsel.

Said President Harold B. Lee, “We are not doing our duty as holders of the priesthood when we go beyond the marriageable age and withhold ourselves from an honorable marriage to these lovely women.”6the family

President Gordon B. Hinckley said this: “My heart reaches out to … our single sisters, who long for marriage and cannot seem to find it. … I have far less sympathy for the young men, who under the customs of our society, have the prerogative to take the initiative in these matters but in so many cases fail to do so.”7

I realize there are many reasons why you may be hesitating to take that step of getting married. If you are concerned about providing financially for a wife and family, may I assure you that there is no shame in a couple having to scrimp and save. It is generally during these challenging times that you will grow closer together as you learn to sacrifice and to make difficult decisions. Perhaps you are afraid of making the wrong choice. To this I say that you need to exercise faith. Find someone with whom you can be compatible. Realize that you will not be able to anticipate every challenge which may arise, but be assured that almost anything can be worked out if you are resourceful and if you are committed to making your marriage work.

Perhaps you are having a little too much fun being single, taking extravagant vacations, buying expensive cars and toys, and just generally enjoying the carefree life with your friends. I’ve encountered groups of you running around together, and I admit that I’ve wondered why you aren’t out with the young ladies.

Brethren, there is a point at which it’s time to think seriously about marriage and to seek a companion with whom you want to spend eternity. If you choose wisely and if you are committed to the success of your marriage, there is nothing in this life which will bring you greater happiness.

the familyWhen you marry, brethren, you will wish to marry in the house of the Lord. For you who hold the priesthood, there should be no other option. Be careful lest you destroy your eligibility to be so married. You can keep your courtship within proper bounds while still having a wonderful time.

Choose a companion carefully and prayerfully; and when you are married, be fiercely loyal one to another. Priceless advice comes from a small framed plaque I once saw in the home of an uncle and aunt. It read, “Choose your love; love your choice.” There is great wisdom in those few words. Commitment in marriage is absolutely essential.

Your wife is your equal. In marriage neither partner is superior nor inferior to the other. You walk side by side as a son and a daughter of God. She is not to be demeaned or insulted but should be respected and loved. Said President Gordon B. Hinckley: “Any man in this Church who … exercises unrighteous dominion over [his wife] is unworthy to hold the priesthood. Though he may have been ordained, the heavens will withdraw, the Spirit of the Lord will be grieved, and it will be amen to the authority of the priesthood of that man.”8

President Howard W. Hunter said this about marriage: “Being happily and successfully married is generally not so much a matter of marrying the right person as it is being the right person.” I like that. “The conscious effort to do one’s part fully is the greatest element contributing to success.”9

If any of you are having difficulty in your marriage, I urge you to do all that you can to make whatever repairs are necessary, that you might be as happy as you were when your marriage started out. We who are married in the house of the Lord do so for time and for all eternity, and then we must put forth the necessary effort to make it so. I realize that there are situations where marriages cannot be saved, but I feel strongly that for the most part they can be and should be. Do not let your marriage get to the point where it is in jeopardy.

mormon familyPresident Hinckley taught that it is up to each of us who hold the priesthood of God to discipline ourselves so that we stand above the ways of the world. It is essential that we be honorable and decent men. Our actions must be above reproach.

The words we speak, the way we treat others, and the way we live our lives all impact our effectiveness as men and boys holding the priesthood.

The gift of the priesthood is priceless. It carries with it the authority to act as God’s servants, to administer to the sick, to bless our families, and to bless others as well. Its authority can reach beyond the veil of death, on into the eternities. There is nothing else to compare with it in all this world. Safeguard it, treasure it, live worthy of it.10

My beloved brethren, may righteousness guide our every step as we journey through life. Today and always, may we be worthy recipients of the divine power of the priesthood we bear. May it bless our lives and may we use it to bless the lives of others, as did He who lived and died for us—even Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. This is my prayer in His sacred name, His holy name, amen.

Baptism For The Dead With Authority To Fulfill All Righteousness.

By on Apr 16 in Blog tagged , , , , , , , , , , , | Comments Off

Jesus Christ taught that baptism is essential to the salvation of all who have lived on earth (see John 3:5). Many people, however, have died without being baptized. Others were baptized without proper authority. Because God is merciful, He has prepared a way for all people to receive the blessings of baptism. By performing proxy baptisms in behalf of those who have died, Church members offer these blessings to deceased ancestors of the family. Individuals can then choose to accept or reject what has been done in their behalf.

First of all, Baptism by immersion performed by a living person acting on behalf of one who is dead, as practiced in New Testament times ( Corrinthians. 15: 29). This ordinance is performed in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Jesus Christ said, “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3: 5). Even Jesus Christ Himself was baptized (see Matt. 3: 13-17).

Many people have lived on the earth who never heard of the gospel of Jesus Christ and who were not baptized. Others lived without fully understanding the importance of the ordinance of baptism. Still others were baptized, but without proper authority.

Because He is a loving God, the Lord does not damn those people who, through no fault of their own, never had the opportunity for baptism. He has therefore authorized baptisms to be performed by proxy for them. A living person, often a descendant who has become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is baptized in behalf of a deceased person. This work is done by Church members in temples throughout the world.

Some people have misunderstood that when baptisms for the dead are performed, deceased persons are baptized into the Church against their will. This is not the case. Each individual has agency, or the right to choose. The validity of a baptism for the dead depends on the deceased person accepting it and choosing to accept and follow the Savior while residing in the spirit world. The names of deceased persons are not added to the membership records of the Church.

The New Testament indicates that baptisms for the dead were done during the time of the Apostle Paul (see Corrinthians. 15: 29

). This ordinance was restored with the establishment of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Ever since biblical times, the Lord has designated through His prophets who could receive the priesthood and other blessings of the gospel. Among the tribes of Israel, for example, only men of the tribe of Levi were given the priesthood and allowed to officiate in certain ordinances. Likewise, during the Savior’s earthly ministry, gospel blessings were restricted to the Jews. Only after a revelation to the Apostle Peter were the gospel and priesthood extended to others (see Acts 10: 1-33; Acts 14: 23Acts 15: 6-8).

With the revelation to President Kimball in 1978, the priesthood is now available to all worthy male members regardless of race or ethnicity. Each candidate for ordination is interviewed by priesthood leaders to ensure that he understands and agrees to live by established principles of righteousness (see Doctrine and Covenants 84: 33-44; D&C 121: 34-46).

  1. The restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood, which occurred on May 15, 1829.

  2. The restoration of the Melchizedek Priesthood, which occurred a short time later.

  3. The revelation under which the priesthood became available to all worthy men, regardless of lineage. This was announced to the Church twenty two years ago.

Can you imagine what a wonderful experience this restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood must have been for Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery when John the Baptist spoke to them? Here was a man who had lived upon the earth more than 1,800 years earlier. Now he was speaking in English to two young men while he held his hands upon their heads. His was a resurrected body. Theirs were mortal bodies. They felt his hands, the materiality of them, and understood the words that he spoke. This tells us that resurrected beings are tangible, that they can move and act, that they can speak and be understood.

He told them, among other things, that, while the authority he gave them authorized them to baptize, it did not include the authority to bestow the Holy Ghost. He indicated that another order of the priesthood was necessary for this, and that it would subsequently be given to them by Peter, James, and John.Alan Osmond

Lord, How Can We Prepare The Way Before Thy Coming?

By on Apr 01 in Blog tagged , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , | Comments Off

NO, THIS IS NOT APRIL FOOLS WHAT WE SAY!

It’s Time To Stand For Our God, Our Freedoms, And Our Families!

We are living in the Last Days!

He is "The Way".

We must learn to give heed to the words and commandments that the Lord shall give through his prophet, “as he receiveth them, walking in all holiness before me; as if from mine own mouth, in all patience and faith.” D&C 21: 4-5

There will be some things that take patience and faith.  You may not like what comes from the authority of the Church.  It may contradict your political views.  It may contradict your social views.  It may interfere with some of your social life.  But if you listen to these things, as if from the mouth of the Lord himself, with patience and faith, the promise is that “the gates of hell shall not prevail against you; yea, and the Lord God will desperse the powers of darkness from before you, and cause the heavens to shake for your good, and his name’s glory.” D&C 21: 6

If the emotions one feels as he contemplates the fore-boding days ahead are primarily fearful, then perhaps what is needed is a serious evaluation of one’s personal relatioinship with Jesus Christ.  It is he to whose coming we look, and if it is with frightened eyes, perhaps it is because we are not completely comfortable with our present relationship to him.

We must be prepared.  The Lord spoke through Joseph Smith and gave a most profound truth, and a promise, saying: “…if ye are prepared ye shall not fear.” Elder John  A. Widsoe said, … Fear, which “shall come upon every man,” is the natural consequence of a sence of weakness, also of sin.  Fear is a chief weapon of Satan in making manking unhappy.  He who fears loses strength for the combat of life, for the fight against evil.  Therefore, the power of evil ever seeks to engender fear in human hearts.  In this day of sorrow, fear walks with humanity.  It directs, measurabbly, the course of every battle.  It remains as a gnawing poison in the hearts of the victors as of the vanquished.

As leaders in Israel, we mst seek to dispel fear from among our people.  A timid, fearing people cannot do their work well.  The Latter-day Saints have a divinely assigned world-mission so great that they cannot afford to dissipate their strength in fear.  The Lord has repeatedly warned His people against fear.  Many a blessing is withheld because of our fears.  He has expressly declared that man cannot stop his work on earth, therefore, they who are engaged in the Lord’s latter-day cause and who fear, really trust man more that God, and thereby are robbed of their power to serve.

The key to the conquest of fear has been given through the Prophet Joseph Smith. “If ye are repared ye shall not fear.” D&C 38: 30 That devine message needs repeating today in every stake and ward.  Are we prepared in surrender to God’s commandments?  In victory over our appetites?  In obedience to righteous law?  If we can honestly answer yes, we can bid fear depart.  And the degree of fear in our hearts may well be measured by our preparation by righteous living, such as should characterize Latter-day Saints.

In this world upheval, in this day of wanton destruction, we, as a people, must look upward. There must be trust and faith in our hearts. Hope must walk by our side.  We must remember charity also.  We must treasure the warm words of the Father to His Church.  “Be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord God am whith you, and will stand by you.” D&C 68: 6

Oh!, that each heart could honestly repeat the words spoken by President Joseph F. Smith during World War I.  “No matter what may come to me, if I am only in the line of my duty, if I am in fellowship with God, if I am worthy of the fellowship of my brethren, if I can stand spotless before the world, without blemish, without transgressioin of the Laws of God, what does it matter to me what may happen to me? I am always ready, if in this frame of understanding, mind, and conduct.  It does not matter at all.  Therefore, I borrow no trouble nor feel the pangs of fear.

Much has been said concerning the coming of the Lord.  Much more could be said.  The world rushes headlong toward disater and many live in fear of that dreadful day.  But many others look forward with poignant longing for the great day of the Lord.

The advice of Elder Orson Pratt should be in the forefront of the mind of every Latter-day Saint in these troubled and ominoius times.

With a work of such magnitude before them, the Latter-day Saints should be wide awake, and should not have their minds engaged in those fooleries in which many  indulge at the present time.  We should put these things away, and our inquiry should be, “Lord how can we  prepare the way before thy coming?  How can we prepare ourselves to perform the work which must be performed in this greatest of dispensations, the dispensation of the fulness of times?  How can we be prepared to behold the Saints who lived on the earth in former disipensatioins, and take them by the haved and fall upon their necks and they fall upon ours, and we embrace each other? How can we be prepared for this?”  How can all things that are in Christ Jesus, both which are in heaven and on the earth, be assembled in one grand assembly. without we are wide awake?

When we can make such questions the code for patterning our daily living, we too can truly be prepared for the coming of the Lord.

“And the Lord shall be red in his apparel, and his garments like him that treadeth in the wine-vat.” D&C 133: 48 &  Isa. 63: 2

Help Me Find “The Way”!

I’ve had some requests, to “Help me find the way!

The Lord has made it very clear throughout time as to which “Way” we should go and to whom we should follow.

“Therefore, cheer up your hearts, and remember that ye are free to act for yourselves—to choose the way of everlasting death or the way of eternal life.” 2 Ne. 10: 23

In our pre-existent life, before we came here, there was a war in heaven. Jesus presented to us a Plan of Life that we could choose where we would come to earth and get a body of flesh and bones, in order to become more like our Heavenly parents, and to be given sacred powers to create life in order to have everlasting  joy.  Jesus knew that we would make mistakes and offered to come down to earth and show us “The Way” to retun back to heaven once again.  He was also willing to sacrifice Himself and die for our sins so that we may live again and help us pay the debt for those sins we would make and to redeem us so that we could be forgiven.

Satan stepped us and presented his Plan of Life in which he would make us all obey so that we would qualify to return to heaven.  But, he wanted all of the praise and the glory for it.

There was war and one third of the spirit children in Heaven chose Satan’s Plan.  This caused those One Third to be cast out of heaven along with the devil and were denied ever having a physical body.

Everyone that has ever been born chose Jesus’s Plan of Life.

Well, Jesus came and did what He said he would.  He established The Church of Jesus Christ which was short lived because He and His Apostles whom he gave his authority to act in His name, were all killed.  Thus ended His Church and any authority on the earth.

In the 1830′s Heavenly Father and Jesus returned to earth to restore The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had John the Baptist, Peter, James, and John, as well as Elijah the Prophet  return and give to Joseph Smith those keys and authority to the priesthood and redeeming the dead to re-establish Jesus’s Church.

We now have the fullness of the gosel once again on the earth today with the same organization that existed with the primitave church with a Living Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, Twelve Apostles, Patriarchs, Bishops, Missionaries, and  hundreds of Temples or Houses of the Lord, where sacred ordinances can be accepted and performed to advance oneself in God’s kingdoms and where the work for the dead can be performed so that those who never heard of Jesus, can be taught in the Spirit world, or Paradise, after they die and continue on with their eternal progression!

The important thing is to learn truth and light, and then to choose!

.

Jesus said, “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve.”

What you chose in heaven determined where you are today.  What you choose today will determine which Mansion in heaven you will be able to live in after you die, and to live forever as everyone will.

“In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” John 14: 2

(Outer Darkness, .Telestial, . Terresterial, . Celestial Kingdoms.)

Light is truth. When we are willing to live the truth, which are the laws of God, we can attain the mansion of our choice.  In a way, we will judge ourselves at judgment day by which laws and ordinances we are willing to live!

Covenants, or promises made with the Lord are important!  These promises are two way promises.  We promise the Lord certain things and in return, The Lord promises us certain things.

“For notwithstanding they die, they also shall rise again, a spiritual body.

They who are of a celestial spirit shall receive the same body which was a natural body; even ye shall receive your bodies, and your glory shall be that glory by which your bodies are quickened. (After the resurrection.)

Ye who are quickened by a portion of the celestial glory shall then receive of the same, even a fulness.

And they who are quickened by a portion of the terrestrial glory shall then receive of the same, even a fulness.

And also they who are quickened by a portion of the telestial glory shall then receive of the same, even a fulness.

And they who remain shall also be quickened; nevertheless, they shall return again to their own place, to enjoy that which they are willing to receive, because they were not willing to enjoy that which they might have received.

For what doth it profit a man if a gift is bestowed upon him, and he receive not the gift? Behold, he rejoices not in that which is given unto him, neither rejoices in him who is the giver of the gift.

And again, verily I say unto you, that which is governed by law is also preserved by law and perfected and sanctified by the same.

That which breaketh a law, and abideth not by law, but seeketh to become a law unto itself, and willeth to abide in sin, and altogether abideth in sin, cannot be sanctified by law, neither by mercy, justice, nor judgment. Therefore, they must remain filthy still.

All kingdoms have a law given;” D&C 88: 27-36

In order to attain the highest Mansion, or Glory of God, one must make promises, or covenants, with the Lord, and obey certain laws in order to attain the highest kindom of Glory where God dwells.  Not all are willing to live certain laws and thus is why other various kindgoms with lesser laws and ordinances were given so that where ever you are, you will be happy.

“And now, I say unto you, my brethren, that after ye have known and have been taught all these things, if ye should transgress and go contrary to that which has been spoken, that ye do withdraw yourselves from the Spirit of the Lord, that it may have no place in you to guide you in wisdom’s paths that ye may be blessed, prospered, and preserved—
And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are true; for the Lord God hath spoken it.”Mosiah 2: 36, 41

There is much confusion and wickedness in the world today.  We are living in the last days when it will be “a great and dreadful day”.   A Great Day for those who have made sacred covenants and promises with the Lord, Jesus Christ, and A Dreadful Day for those who have not but choose to live in sin and serve Satan and his ways.
“And verily I say unto you, that the conditions of this law are these: All covenants, contracts, bonds, obligations, oaths, vows, performances, connections, associations, or expectations, that are not made and entered into and sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, of him who is anointed, both as well for time and for all eternity, and that too most holy, by revelation and commandment through the medium of mine anointed, whom I have appointed on the earth to hold this power (and I have appointed unto my servant Joseph to hold this power in the last days, and there is never but one on the earth at a time on whom this power and the keys of this priesthood are conferred), are of no efficacy, virtue, or force in and after the resurrection from the dead; for all contracts that are not made unto this end have an end when men are dead.
And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, and it is sealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of promise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have appointed this power and the keys of this priesthood; and it shall be said unto them—Ye shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depths—then shall it be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, that he shall commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, and if ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their exaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of the seeds forever and ever.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, if a man marry a wife according to my word, and they are sealed by the aHoly Spirit of promise, according to mine appointment, and he or she shall commit any sin or transgression of the new and everlasting covenant whatever, and all manner of blasphemies, and if they commit no murder wherein they shed innocent blood, yet they shall come forth in the first resurrection, and enter into their exaltation; but they shall be destroyed in the flesh, and shall be delivered unto the buffetings of Satan unto the day of redemption, saith the Lord God. D&C 132: 7, 19, 26

” All kingdoms have a law given;
And there are many kingdoms; for there is no space in the which there is no kingdom; and there is no kingdom in which there is no space, either a greater or a lesser kingdom.
And unto every kingdom is given a law; and unto every law there are certain bounds also and conditions.
All beings who abide not in those conditions are not justified.
For intelligence cleaveth unto intelligence; wisdom receiveth wisdom; truth embraceth truth; virtue loveth virtue; light cleaveth unto light; mercy hath compassionon mercy and claimeth her own; justice continueth its course and claimeth its own; judgment goeth before the face of him who sitteth upon the throne and governeth and executeth all things.
He comprehendeth all things, and all things are before him, and all things are round about him; and he is above all things, and in all things, and is through all things, and is round about all things; and all things are by him, and of him, even God, forever and ever.”  D&C 88: 36-41

I encourage all to “choose ye this day whom ye will serve”.  ”As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

At such a time as this, I want to address all of the many people, friends, followers, supporters and those who often call themselves fans; those who have followed us, trusted us, supported us, loved us, fed us, hugged us, traveled to see us, screamed and cheered for us and blessed us and our careers.

Do you know what joy and blessings you have been and have given to us Osmonds throughout all of our careers, and the impact that you have made in so many of our lives? You gave us your time, your attention, your hugs, your applause and standing ovations, your money, your respect, your letters, your laughter, your tears, your listening ears, your hearts and your prayers for so many years.  I just want to take a moment to write and  acknowledge each and every one of you and in behalf of all of the Osmonds, myself , and our families whose lives you have also touched, with all my heart, I want to say thank your for being such an important part of our lives!

Our Mother, Olive, and Father, George, were also called “Mother and Father” by our fans.  They took time to talk to you and share stories and experiences with you to help you along with your lives to be happy.  Oh how we miss them.  They served two missions to share those things that are most important to us in this life.

You see, we all came to this world to get a body, to make choices and to learn, to love, to laugh and to listen, to give, to be tested and to die, and then go back to our heavenly parents and to report on the choices we made and how our time was spent here on earth and to be reunited with their families again.  We can’t think of anything greater to take back to heaven than the friendships, the joys and memories that we have had by being with all of you and for having you in our lives, our prayers, our hearts and minds with blessings and great memories .  For us to be able to share with you our music, our friendship, our opinions, our entertainment and humor, our songs, websites and newsletters and most importantly our testimonies of the gospel of Jesus Christ for which we know is true and which many of you have found and have accepted and joined us in knowing for yourselves.

Oh, what responsibility, what honesty, loyalty, truth, faith and courage we must continue to have for each other as we continue forward and face these hard times ahead.  Yes, it’s called being honest and true!  Our worries and concerns for you and ourselves as well, puts great responsibility and pressure upon all of us with an absolute need for powerful prayers in order to watch out for each other and to prepare to meet our maker above.  I pray that you might listen, be inspired, be informed, with those truths and information that we have received and to share with each other that we may be blessed, be safe and protected, fed and preserved, convinced and proven, with the blessings and a guiding light from on high to guide us and direct us all to safety.  Together with you and your loved ones, we can choose ‘the way ‘and the path through these last days that will lead us to  that glorious day when our Savior, Jesus Christ, returns to live with us once again, and find the way through that narrow gate that takes us back to our God.

You know and we know, that we are open and not shy about sharing our testimonies with you of the truthfulness of our beliefs, the gospel of Jesus Christ, with our prophets, the Bible and the Book of Mormon, with a focus on the family, which is God’s plan of life.  We constantly have done this and continue to do so.  We share these  things without any shame, reason, gain, or ulterior motive except to show you our love and share those truths that we cherish, and have found and hold dear.  There isn’t enough money, gold records, standing ovations, number one hits or any live and world wide media events that you could give us that would keep us from warning and speaking out boldly so that all may hear.  We are told that we must warn and share with our neighbors, families and friends, those things which each of us must do before we die and go to heaven; to understand these choices and  to make a good choices; to have the opportunity to understand them and get them done and accomplished.  What we did and chose to do in our pre-existent life before we came to this world determined where we are today.  What we choose to do now will affect where we will go in the life to come.  It is so important that I wish to share with those things with you those we love that really are most important!

Many of these “precious parts” and truths were in the Bible, but were taken away leaving many confused as was recorded in The Book of Mormon in 1st Nephi Chapter 13.  Click these links and see for yourselves. 1 Ne. 13: 7-8, 26, 28-29, 32, 34-35, 40

Yes, we all will live again because of our Savior Jesus Christ who died for us.  Me need to accept Him as our Savior.  His Atoning sacrifice will help us pay our debts for our mistakes and sins.  But, what we do, our actions and what we choose, how we feel and think in our hearts and who’s most important that we take with us as families, besides those great memories and experiences from this life.  It is what we all need to realize, focus on, and to live those commandments that we must learn to obey.  We can change and repent if it need be, in order to be successful; and to be totally converted to the way of the Lord in order to go to the  highest mansion in heaven where God dwells.  Once we have repented, the Lord  remembers our mistakes and sins no more.

We believe that families are forever!  We believe that we really are all children of God who came to earth to get a body of flesh and bones like God has, and to learn to make good choices, to control our desires and appetites and to progress as human beings by choosing to be like our heavenly parents; to overcome the natural man, to fall in love and to marry not just ’till death do you part’, but for time and for all eternity so that we may prove ourselves to God and become more like Him.  If we are willing to keep all of God’s commandments and not defile those God given co-creative powers, that godly gift to create life; but to marry and keep God’s commandment to multiply and replenishing the earth and bring forth children from God’s heaven above into this world, as they are deserving of having a father and a mother, too!  It is then that we will be on the right path.  This is the purpose of this life.  God is not the author of confusion.  If we do this the way God designed, and follow His plan of life, we will continue to live in the heavens after and will continue to be blessed with these Godly given creative powers, or not.

In the heavens are many mansions.  John 14: 2 There is a mansion or heaven like unto the glory of the stars, one like unto the glory of the moon, and one like unto the glory of the sun.  So also is the resurrection.  Which ever glory you go to by choosing to live and to obey those truths and commandments associated with that level of live of your choice, you will be happy there.   We will be able to visit these various mansions and levels of light or truth but only if we are able to live and obey the laws and commandments by which they are governed.  There is also a hell for those who choose everlasting darkness and the ways of Satan who by the way, has no body and no glory, but chose the way of eternal damnation. Just like water in a reservoir, his progression of life is stopped or damned.

We know that repentance and baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost is necessary for us to be washed clean and be able to hear the promptings of the Holy Spirit that will lead and guide us.  The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead and is a Spirit personage so that he can dwell within us so that we will not feel left alone.  We can only receive these things and be given them by those who have the priesthood and authority to do so from Jesus Christ.  They are those of His church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which has been restored once again from when Jesus organized it with with the same organization that existed in the primitive church; namely prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, etc.  We have a living prophet that speaks for the Lord until He returns, and he will lead and guide us in these latter days.

Yes, marriage is important between a man and a woman.  If we are to become creators like our heavenly parents, which all children usually do, we must also be able to create life which takes a man and woman to accomplish.  This is why we marry for time and for all eternity so that our marriage and those creative powers remain with us so we can have eternal increase.  This is required in order to progress to one’s fullest capability of God’s Plan of Life.  This is what makes us like God, our Father.  We are able to create life!  Like Father like son.  Like Mother like daughter.

We can receive more and all of the sacred ordinances which are available in the House of the Lord, or the Temple.  These temples will prepare us to meet God and to progress our lives throughout all eternity.  Elijah came back and restored these sacred sealing ordinances and promises that are necessary “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”  Mal. 4: 6

The Temple s is where marriages and families are sealed together forever.  This is also where our ancestors, and those who never knew of Jesus or died young, and where each and every person that has ever has lived, must have their temple work completed and those sacred ordinances performed by proxy or “the world will be wasted at its coming”. By accepting these ordinances, they can also receive the highest glory of the resurrection and progress on into the eternities as well.  Families are sealed together through this process so that those who never had the opportunity to hear about Jesus and His gospel will not be left out..  They will hear and have the same opportunity to choose to follow Jesus, or not.  These truths and blessings are taught after one has died and goes to the spirit world where he or she will hear and be taught about the Lord’s plan and His commandments and promises. Because the work was done for them by us in the Temples, they will be able to accept it or not and not be held back but or be stopped but will progress on with their everlasting progression.  This is “God’s work and His Glory to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man”  . . . and woman!

Friends, family, fans, or who ever you are, I know these things are true!  Because of Jesus’s sacrifice, WE ALL WiLL LIVE AGAIN! When the Lord comes back, if you are still around, you can still belong to whatever church you desire, but remember, that in order to get to the highest resurrection or kingdom in heaven, it is truly dependent upon you receiving these ordinances that go back to the beginning of time and that are sealed not only on earth but also in heaven and by being able to live  them. You can only receive them by  those who have  the authority and priesthood bestowed  them.   They received that priesthood from the master himself, Jesus Christ. The heavens are governed by laws.  Your choices and commandments that you are willing to live will decide where you will go.  It is all a choice.  We all will live again because of Jesus and no one is forcing anyone to get to a higher heaven.  But, it’s there for those who are willing and choose to live the laws and seek it.

We know from the scriptures and from our Prophets who speak in behalf of  the Lord, and who have prophesied of things that have been and of things which are yet to come.  We have been told how this world will end.  We know who wins this great war and battle of life.  We know that it will be a “great and a dreadful day”.  Yes, there will be things that we have never seen before but, for those who know of them, and who are prepared, they shall not fear and it will be much easier to accept, and to understand and the Lord and His angels will  protect them. There will be wars and rumors of wars.  The skies, the seas and the mountains will move out of their places.  When Jesus will come no one knows. Even the angels in heaven don’t know. But, Jesus will appear in Jerusalem where the Jews father’s crucified Him, and it will be there where Jesus will appear to their children and show them his nail scarred hands and feet.  They will then fall to their knees and weep and confess that Jesus is the Christ. Jesus will then live with us and rule this world in peace for a thousand years.  Satan will be bound.

We need to continue to be friends and family and share those things to help us be prepared knowing that the end is near. We are all God’s children. We are all brothers and sisters. I have spoken openly and honestly trusting that these things I’ve shared will be received with understanding and openly by you.  I do not judge or think we are better than anyone else.  These things are open for all to chose and have for yourself.

My friends and those who know me know that I don’t lie.  I share this so that my heart and conscience will always know that I opened my mouth and shared with all (D&C 60: 2) , and that my purposes in doing so was clear and pure because we have been told in the scriptures to warn our neighbors.  When we die someday, and we all will, we each will live again, be judged after we report back to our lord Jesus and Heavenly Father and Mother.

As we see the weakening of Christian faith in society , our own faith must become even more firm and sure. We are the generation the Lord has saved for this day,”  We were chosen to be here at this time of life when the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth with all of it’s everlasting ordinances and blessings necessary, which are here and can be ours, to get to the highest kingdom in heaven and to receive the best resurrection we can.   These ordinances and the Temple doors are open and are made available to you but not forced upon you.  Yes,  you must be worthy and choose to obey God’s laws and keep His commandments.   It is your choice.  My wife and I both work at one of these Temples and see all nationalities, colors of skin and families from all over the earth come here.  We welcome you and invite you to have the “fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ” with all of the blessings of eternity.  We can have it if we but serve our Lord Jesus Christ and follow HIm.  He is The Way!  That is the important action item here; to “choose ye this day whom ye will serve.  As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

I leave you this as a testimony from my heart of these truths, and I do so in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord.

Alan Osmond shares his heart about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hello.  I am Alan Osmond. I want to express the feelings of my heart with to all that will listen!  You may NOT agree with me as I share openly my opinion as well as my music regarding religion and God’s “Plan of Life“… which is The Family!

When Jesus Christ was on the earth, He established His Church among His followers. After His Crucifixion and the deaths of His Apostles, the fulness of the gospel was taken from the earth because of widespread apostasy. Men changed His Church. It has been re-established. Through the Prophet Joseph Smith, our Father in Heaven and His Son Jesus Christ restored the fulness of the gospel. The true Church of Jesus Christ is on the earth again. Because of the Restoration, the teachings and ordinances necessary for salvation are available to all people.  We claim to be the re-established original Christian Church. We claim the Book of Mormon to be another witness of Jesus Christ.

When I talk about being a Latter-day Saint, or a so called “Mormon” and share scriptures from The Book of Mormon, many friends have said to me, “We have a Bible, and there cannot be any more Bible. They only want to hear scriptures from the Bible for the “Word of God”.

I believe the Bible, too.  My Mother was a theologian and at a young age, all  of us Brothers and Marie were taught about ALL religions and how Jesus organized His church. She showed us that men changed it! ( See 1 Nephi 13:34)  It has been re-established, and we claim to be the re-established original Christain Church.

As a young boy in 1820, Joseph Smith wanted to know which church was true. As he searched the Bible for help, he read that he should ask of God. Acting on this counsel, Joseph went into the woods near his home and prayed. Suddenly, a light shone above him and Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him. When Joseph asked which church he should join, the Savior told him to join none of the churches then in existence because they were teaching incorrect doctrines. Through this experience and many others that followed, the Lord chose Joseph to be His prophet and to restore the gospel of Jesus Christ and His Church to the earth.

As Joseph Smith proved his worthiness, he was given a divine mission as a prophet of God. Through him, the Lord accomplished a great and marvelous work that included bringing forth the Book of Mormon, restoring the priesthood, revealing precious gospel truths, organizing the true Church of Jesus Christ, and establishing temple work. On June 27, 1844, Joseph and his brother Hyrum were killed in an attack by an armed mob. They sealed their testimonies with their blood.

I choose to know as much as I can about Jesus and ALL that He has said!  The Book of Mormon is a record of God’s dealings with the people who lived in the ancient Americas. Prophets of the Lord engraved the original records on gold plates. On September 22, 1827, an angel named Moroni—the last Book of Mormon prophet—delivered these records to the Prophet Joseph Smith. By the gift and power of God, the Prophet Joseph translated the record into English.  It records that Jesus visited the people on the American continent after He was crucified and before He ascended into heaven.

The Book of Mormon is another witness for the truths that are also taught in the Bible. It also restores “plain and precious” truths that have been lost from the Bible through errors in translation or “taken away” in attempts to “pervert the right ways of the Lord” (see 1 Nephi 13:24–271 Nephi 13:38–41). The Bible and the Book of Mormon “shall grow together, unto the confounding of false doctrines and laying down of contentions, and establishing peace” (2 Nephi 3:12).  Isn’t that what this world needs most?

Before this world, we lived in the “spirit world” as spirit children of God.  As part of “God’s Plan of Life”, we would choose to follow Jesus who would “show us “the way” to get back to our Heavenly Parents.  Satan stepped up and said he would make sure we all did what we were supposed to do and that not one soul would be lost.  He also wanted all the glory for doing it.  One third of the spirits in heaven followed Satan and were cast out and denied the opportunity of having a body.  We chose Jesus’s way and  would be able to be born to earthly parents to gain a body of flesh and bones, just as our Eternal parents.

Because we chose Jesus’s plan of life in our pre-existence. we were blessed to come to earth, get a body, and learn truth, be tested, and to choose “The Way” of life we desire to live.  We would learn both good and evil and hopefully ‘Seek the Lord’, find Him, embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ, the redeemer of us all, and keep His commandments!  We would grow, learn, fall in love, get married and and make good choices or not; to righteously use God’s creative powers which HE gave us, and to do as commanded and to multiply and replentish the earth.  Those children which would come to that father and mother would then become a family.”  The choices we make in this life will affect where we go in the mansions of heaven.

I am most grateful to my ancestors who were NOT LDS (“Mormons”) but were religious and went to various other Churches. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had NOT yet been restored until the 1830’s!

Statue of Saint Osmund, Bishop of Salisbury, in Salisbury Cathedral, Wilshire, England.

Whatever TRUTHS you have gained, build upon them and receive further Truth and Light or knowledge! The glory of God is intelligence. I personally want to know any and ALL of Christ words besides those from the old world with the Bible and also found in the Book of Mormon, another witness that Jesus is the Christ!

Jesus visited the America‘s and showed them His scarred hands and and feet and told them that He was also their Savior. His words were recorded on gold plates commanded by the Lord as was the recorders of the Bible.  Jesus said, “And verily I say unto you, that ye are they of whom I said: “Other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd“. (3 Nephi 15:21)
Yes, Jesus and his Apostles were killed but Jesus’s Church, The Church of Jesus Christ with the fullness of Priesthood Powers and KEYS of authority, to seal in Heaven as well as on earth have once again been restored in these latter-days with a living Prophet to communicate with the Lord!
I made a promise to myself and to my Heavenly Father and Jesus, that after I had studied the Bible, and had read the Book of Mormon and other scriptures and and received an answer to my prayers, that when I KNOW them to be true, I would be an ambassador and follower of Jesus and help proclaim His word to all the earth.  Yes, I was converted, baptized, received the Holy Ghost by those in authority and I will share my message and convictions with everyone that I can!  I love being a part of the Lord’s work; “for I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ”!

Friends, Family, Fans, and Neighbors
, you are FREE to choose for yourselves what you want to believe! That right is what we fought for in the ‘War in Heaven’ in our pre-existence life as Spirit Children and we are still fighting for that freedom today!
I cannot deny that which I know in my heart to be true!   I spend as much time as I can now, though disabled, in doing temple work in ‘The House of The Lord’ for those kindred dead, children, and others who didn’t have the chance to hear these truths here on earth. They who have NOT yet heard, are being taught these same truths in the Spirit World in Heaven as we speak!  Just like you, they will have the opportunity to hear Jesus’s words and  to choose “THE WAY” of Eternal Life!  (or NOT)
I am a convert, a child of God, and I am so blessed to have been born of goodly parents who taught me to walk in the paths of righteousness! Even though my parents have died (as we all will) their Spirit Bodies never die and they have gone to Heaven where we all will eventually go. We all will be judged for our works, resurrected, and regain our bodies to again live eternally, because of Jesus!  I have a beautiful wife and eight (8) sons with 19+ grandchildren.  Our church has nothing to do with Polygamy.  It was discontinued in 1890.  Some groups who broke away from our church still practice it.  WE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM! If I wanted to be quickly excommunicated from my church, I would practice Polygamy.
I know that I will be with my parents again and with my family forever! I testify of that because Elijah also came back in 1836 and gave the powers of “turning the hearts to the children to the fathers, and I have been sealed in a temple to my parents and family to live together for all eternity!
Just like me, that choice is up to YOU to ChooseTHE WAY” you wish to live!
Make sure you have knowledge and are taught about your life before this world. Be sure you are Baptized with one having authority and receive the Gift of The Holy Ghost.  Make sure you keep the commandments and marry not just till “Death do you part” but, for Eternity in the House of The Lord and have your children sealed to you for Eternity.  That’s forever!

Also, help those of your past relatives by doing their baptisms for the dead and other ordinances that Elijah the Prophet prophesied of “turning the hearts of the Children to their Fathers to the Fathers and the Children”. Elijah gave those “keys‘ in the 1800′s to Joseph Smith. Now, they who may have never heard about the gospel have the opportunity to accept them in Heaven, or not, and be saved.
I love you all my brothers and sisters, even as Jesus loves us!  We are children of God. I will continue to share and answer any questions that I can.
