“ A man can be as great as he wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done. ”

"Gratitude is a mark of a noble soul and a refined character. We like to be around those who are grateful. They tend to brighten all around them. They make others feel better about themselves."

"Sisters, don't be afraid to be different in our century! Sometimes we have to be different in order to maintain our religeous beliefs and standards. So I repeat, don't be afraid to be different, but be as good as you can be."

"Gratitude"! Live with a spirit of thanksgiving and you will have greater happiness and satisfaction in life. Even in your most difficult times, you can find
much to be grateful for. Doing so will strengthen and bless you."

"There is but one way to tranquility of mind and happiness... and that is to
account NO external things thine own, but to commit all to God."
Epictitus

“You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment if you don't trust enough.”

All our lives we hear "No, No, No". We learn and are often cautioned by those we love. But, there is such power in the voice of "Yes" that has brought me much joy to my life.

Last night, 32 years ago, after much praying and fasting, I asked my wife, Suzanne, if she would marry me. I had prayed, received an answer, and knew that it was right . . . but told her she didn't have to answer me right away.

The next day we were driving to a family reunion on a long open highway, all alone, and I said, "Have you made up your mind?" With moisened eyes she looked at me and said "Yes". I was so happy that I slammed on the brakes in the middle of the lonely road and got out of the car and ran around it screaming! I was so happy! The joy of "Yes" was overpowering!

When you know that something is right and you get that confirmation of "Yes" within, it is such a wonderful feeling. After much study and prayer, I asked my Heavenly Father if my Church and religion was true. "Yes" was my answer. After each of my 8 sons births, I would ask if it was worth it with all the risks that my wife took. "Yes" was always my answer. As we look forward to tomorrow with all the "No" cautions, uncertainty, the bad health, the financial challenges, and even family conflicts . . ."is it worth it?" I can honestly say, "Yes"! We need to make sure we listen for the "Yes" word besides the "No".

"Life is like a kaleidoscope:
with every turn there is change,
and every change brings new beauty."

"Do. Or do not. There is no try."

“ You have to believe in yourself, that's the secret. Even when I was in the orphanage, when I was roaming the street trying to find enough to eat, even then I thought of myself as the greatest actor in the world. I had to feel the exuberance that comes from utter confidence in yourself. Without it, you go down to defeat. ”

"A disturbed conscience can be temporarily masked by physical stimulation of the mind and body where one yields to the temptations of alcohol, drugs, pornography, and worse. All this at the cost of an increased appetite for false efforts to calm an aching conscience with the risk of incurring unrelenting addictions. There is a better way to restore peace of conscience.

"The ability to have an unsettled conscience
is a gift of God to help you succeed in this mortal life. It results principally from the influence of the Light of Christ on your mind and heart. The Light of Christ is that divine power or influence that emanates from God through Jesus Christ. It gives light and life to all things. It prompts all rational individuals throughout the earth to distinguish truth from error, right from wrong. It activates your conscience."
