The Osmond Brothers Final Bow And Testimony

The U.K. Tour

the family

On this, Merrill Osmond’s Birthday, The Osmond Brothers take their final Bow and share their Testimony to their dear fans and friends in their United Kingdom’s Final Tour.

the familyI know that Wayne and I so wish that we could have been there to perform and say thank you to the most wonderful fans and friends any musical artiist could ever wish to have.

I, Alan Osmond, was the oldest of the group and had to leave the group a few years ago due to having Multiiiple Sclerosis.  Wayne Osmond, the second oldest of the group just recently had to leave the group due to health conditions.

We always said a word of prayer before each and every performance we did asking for the Lord’s blessings and for the Holy Spirit to touch those among the audience that they might feel our love and testimony through our music that we have for life, for family, and for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

We know that Jesus Christ is The Way to everlasting happiness and that He has restored His Gospel here upon the earth with all the power and authority to bless us with everlasting life in the world and heavens to come.

We usually always end our shows with a musical testimony via a song that we love so much; a song we wrote for The Plan Album called, “Are You Up There”, and ending it with the classic song, “I Believe”.  These shows that we have done for about 55+ years have always started with a word of prayer backstage and usually ended with a song of gratitude and belief on stage.

the familyIn behalf of all of my brothers and sister Marie, myself and all of the Osmond families, may we say thank you for accepting us and our music, and especially for all of those tender words, hugs, kisses and eternal friendships that will never go away.  We love our fans and call them friends knowing that there is purpose in life.

We Osmonds are all members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and are not ashamed of the fullness of His gospel.  We sing His name, we take upon ourselves His Name, and always remember Him and strive to keep His Commandments.

If you have felt that ‘Spirit’ and love in our concerts, our music, our TV and media moments, or wonder why we are the way we are . . . then we invite you to click this link and ask of those who respond to share with you “what it is that you felt” and then ask them any questions.  Ask them to explain and to give you answers to “the reason for the hope that is within us” Osmonds.  Or, if you see us, just ask us personally and we will share with you the glad message of Jesus Christ and His Plan of Life that includes The Way to return back to our Heavenly Parents and what is needed to be able to live in the highest mansions of Heaven with them for all eternity.

Sincerely with love,

Alan Osmond

    Dear Alan

I heard ‘Are you up there’ for the first time when I was 6 years old. I remember being fascinated by the music and even though I didn’t understand all the lyrics, I learned them off by heart. When I was 18 I asked the Lord Jesus in to my life as Saviour and I have always believed that the Holy Spirit used your powerful, beautiful song to sow seeds in my 6 year old heart.

I’m now 45 and I cannot remember a time when you and your family weren’t a part of my life in one way or another. I thank the Lord for you all, you have been (and continue to be) such a blessing and inspiration.

I felt blessed afresh when I watched your brothers perform at Sheffield City Hall during the final tour. You and Wayne were greatly missed but remembered with fondness.

There will always be a space in my heart for you. Thank you will never be enough.

    God Bless!

    Your sister in Christ

  • Rosemary says:

I was not able to go home to England for the tour, but living in Canada I have been fortunate to see the Osmonds in concert in Canada and the USA. Thankyou for your music, for the wonderful memories. After going to see you at the Rainbow concert in 1974 my friend were walking through our local market the next day and saw the Book of Mormon on a table. We were still on a high from the night before and we said thats the book Donny reads lets get a copy, well, our lives were changed forever. Thankyou and when I was diagnosed with Colon cancer last year I received a phone call from Donny while he was on tour in Toronto with Marie. That helped me through the dark hours. Life is good with the Osmonds in it.

    • Alan says:

Rosemary, you have a lot of faith. You are most important to our family. Stay the course that the Lord will bless you! Thanks for being so supportive of our family for so many years! Alan

  • Helen Brown says:

This tour has been amazing, particularly last night in Bournemouth, when I think both the Brothers and the fans had decided to Party. Although we did our best, it was so emotional too, and there were tears both on and offstage. I am sure that they have some great stories to tell you about the last couple of months.

We so hoped that you and Wayne would be able to make it over to say a final goodbye, but sadly it wasn’t to be.

The Osmonds have inspired so many over the years by your performances – and also because you have illustrated that it is possible to entertain and have fun, and be clean living, lead a good life and be respectful to others too.

I was lucky enough to meet the guys last week and was genuinely touched by their kindness to all who came in contact with them. Even the hard nosed roadies have clearly been touched by the Osmonds Magic.

In a world where so few people stand up for what they believe in, and when religion is regarded as being uncool and often has a negative press, your family has never strayed from its beliefs. God Bless to you and all of your wonderful family. You are an inspiration to us all.

    • Alan says:

Helen, oh how Wayne and I would have loved to be with our friends on the last show! What we and our fans/friends have among us is everlasting and eternal relationships that will never go away! EVER!
Thanks for your kind words. There was a lot of pressure from managers, industry leaders, record labels, etc, to be “the natural men” which is an enemy to God, and to not live our morals and convictions. We have been so blessed by standing for truth and righteousness! Thanks, Alan

  • Anne says:

    Dear Alan,
I have tears pouring down my face as I type this, after reading your beautiful words.
i have been a fan of the wonderful Osmond family since I was 10 years old, and have loved you all ever since. I cannot explain it but I feel a wonderful warmth and calmness that envelopes me whenever I hear your music.
I want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you, for the wonderful memories you have selflessly provided us with over the years. You have helped me more than you can possibly imagine – whenIi was diagnosed with cancer 7 years ago, the Osmonds (Merrill first) came back to England and I was blessed to finally see you in real life. Concert after concert followed and it was having these to look forward to during treatment which helped beyond words.
Watching how you Alan, and your brothers, have coped with illness and advesity is truly inspiring.
I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for bringing such joy and brightness into my life for all these years. You are, without doubt, the best band the world has ever seen and are a shining example to all those coming into the music industry. You treat your fans with the utmost respect and your humility is truly humbling.
God bless each and everyone of you. Anne X

    • Alan says:

Bless you right back Ann. You know, when we were touring and traveling all over the world at a young age, we often wondered if we would make a difference not only in the music world, but in the lives of those we had met personally, or from the stage at our concerts. It gives us great joy to know that people like you were there and that what we did was important to you because it sure was important to us! We also hope that by the way we lived our lives and tried hard to treat our fans as friends, that we may have also touched hearts and lives and brought them and their families closer to our Lord, Jesus Christ. This is our true purpose and life’s mission. You will be in our prayers as you go through your physical “tests” and I encourage you, just the way we did, to “trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path” . . . to good health once again! Thanks for being here! Alan Osmond

  • Brenda says:

I have been a huge fan of you and your entire family since I was ten and I will be turning fifty in August. I was thrilled to get to see you at the Iowa State fair, when I was eleven. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. You and your family have always been an inspiration to me. God and family is so important and the way we live our lives. I would like to thank you and your family for all of the love you have given to your fans! Thank you! Brenda G.

    • Alan says:

Brenda, thank you and bless you with your new challenge. We couldn’t have done what we did in the entertainment business for so many years without true and loyal fans/friends! Now, please try to remember that this health challenge you have is a “TEST”. Our Heavenly Father allows “weakness” to come into our lives because it makes us stronger! The big picture of what we do with ourselves and how we overcome those tests in this life is what makes us who we are and what we become in the eternal perspective of things. Ether 12:27 says: “And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.”
Brenda, with faith and courage become humble and we will add our prayers with yours as you face this new challenge of life! You are going to win! Alan

  • Eric says:

Thank you for standing up for the family. I ran across and I love reading about how to strengthen families. I particularly like it when celebrities like you and Kirk Cameron stand up for traditional family values. It is unfortunate that we have such an attack on families. What a testimony it is to have seers to publish The Family: A Proclamation to the World in 1995. I certainly didn’t think 17 years ago that we would be under such an attack. Even my beloved BYU is being attacked. Unfortunately, the attacks will get much, much worse to where good will be called evil and evil good.

  • Sharon says:

To all of the Family. I have been a fan of you all since I was 10years old. I was too young to attend concerts from around that era but have been fortunate to see three performances in the last 10 years in the UK now that I am in my forties. I have brought my husband to those shows and we would both like to say how brilliant and heart warming the concerts were. Each one felt it had a personal touch. I wish you all good health and happiness for the future.

  • Maggie says:

I too was at Hammersmith with my sister. It was very special. We have always loved you and all your family. It just won’t be the same without you. We waited in the pouring rain for the brothers’ coach to leave, to wave goodbye and how sad we were when it finally disappeared around the corner. You are very special people who have touched so many lives. May God bless you all. Best wishes for the future, we will indeed remember you.

    • Alan says:

WE will NEVER forget our fans/friends either. Friends never go away. They are just like those in the bus… right around the corner!
Bless you and all of your friends. What great memories we have had! Alan

  • Fay says:

Thank you all for the wonderful years we have shared with you, I was at the concert at Hammersmith on Saturday, and was so moved by Are You Up There and I Believe, even though I had seen it many times at your concerts, and always feel emotional in it, it was just so special on Saturday. The photo of the Brothers at the top of this page speaks for the deep spiritual feeling that was at Hammersmith that evening when they sang those songs.
Thank you again for all your wonderful music and friendship, you are always forever in our hearts.xx

  • Wendy says:

Thanks you for your kind words Alan. We all love & respect you and your family. You have blessed our lives for these past 55+ years and we are so grateful that Our Heavenly Father chose that path for you all and that you did follow his Plan. At the beginning of the Tour when your Brothers asked what songs we wanted to hear these two songs are the ones I asked for and I am so happy that they have been included. At each show I have been to I really can feel the Spirit there. I feel the love project from the stage but I also feel it being given back to you all and to each other. The love and the friendships in the room have all stemed from the love our Heavenly Father has for us. Thank you for being His instrument. God Bless you all and thank you for sharing your testimony with us

  • Cris says:

What a wonderful testimony. I truly believe there was a reason why I became an Osmond fan. Not only because of there great music, but to bless me with finding the true gospel of Jesus Christ. My dear Osmond family for that I thank you. May our Father in Heaven bless all of you.

  • We are remembering your whole family, through the video clips that are shown in the concert, particularly on Through the years, and He ain’t heavy. Which brings back memories of the 50th tour. The song that touches everyone is from the new CD “Remember Me” When all the brothers images are shown and clips of you all singing echo around the concert hall.
We will all REMEMBER the Osmonds for the influence your music has had on our lives since our childhood. I would have to say especially the memories from the last 10 years…. meeting all your family, and not forgetting the incredible friendships that have been forged through coming together for your music.

  • Julie Mattison says:

I just want to say a GREAT BIG THANK YOU!!!! to the Osmond family for the wonderful examples of who and what they are. They made a great impression on me and my life when I was a young teenager. They introduced me to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Church that has been restored on this earth today.
I can honestly say with all my heart, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church on this earth today.
It is so wonderful to know where we came from, why we are here and where we go to after this life through our Heavenly Fathers beautiful Plan of Salvation.
It is so wonderful to know that our Saviour Jesus Christ died for us and atoned for our sins.
I love my Heavenly Father and my Saviour Jesus Christ and His Gospel.

I love The Osmonds for their steadfastness in their faith, for their courage and bravery, to share their message of love around the world, not only through their fantastic musical talents, but through their wonderful example of who they are, children of God.

May the Lord bless you all

    Your Sister in the Gospel

    • Alan says:

Thank you Julie. We can share with you our music, our fun experiences and some good times but, the most important thing we try to give to those we meet is is the hope that is within us because of Jesus Christ and His Church. The fullness of the gospel is on the earth today and we love sharing the truths that marriages and families can be sealed together throughout eternity and not just until “death do you part”. Heavenly Father’s plan is so much more than just this life. We will all live forever. It is nice to know where and have the knowledge and keys to keep our families together throughout eternity. I wonder if they have entertainment with stages and do shows in the hereafter? They must! We better keep the vocal chords in shape!:-) Thanks

  • Sharon says:

Alan, over 36 years ago at the age of 18 I was baptised, thanks to the amazing missionary work you guys performed. I had to move continent for a year in order to do so and the relationship I had with my mother was irreparably damaged but it was the best decision I ever made. Thank you for bringing the Gospel into my life – I will be eternally grateful, literally. For the first time ever I have attended multiple concerts on the tour because this is the last chance but you will all be forever in my heart and prayers. I can tell you that the spirit of love has been in attendance at the concerts and will leave lasting memories with all there. We love you guys so much – you have been a huge part of so many lives over the years. Now it’s time for you all to live yr lives without the pressures of touring. My dad lived with MS for over 25 yrs so I know the difficulties you face and you have my total admiration for the wonderful attitude you have. We are all really sad that Wayne is experiencing poor health and we have missed you both. Your brothers have done you proud though.

Now we wish all of you all the best for the future and want you all to know that we will love you always. Take care my brother xxxxx

    • Alan says:

Thank you Sharon. There are seasons in our lives and we are gracefully moving in the the fall season. We are not finished living though. Knowing my brothers like I do, and as for myself, we will keep on keepin’ on until graduation day! Thanks for all of those great years. I am glad that you found the gospel also. That is the most important thing one can get in this life! 🙂

  • Karen Macy says:

Just beautiful Alan. I keep hanging around because you all make us feel like friends and not just fans. We love you all and I look forward to seeing you in Utah this June. Should we celebrate a certain “someones” birthday while there? 😉 Thanks for being you.
