Thanks for replying, I only came across The Osmond website whilst looking at LDS info on the web. I AM really trying to keep my faith, seriously, I am. I have had my sorrow and grief all bottled up and locked away for a few years. My dad was a catholic man – we wasn’t allowed show tears. My mum died, very suddenly, we didn’t show tears. Dads gone now. But I miss my mum so much, I want to speak to her God, she was lovely and kind. Why did God take her……..? Shelley.
Shelly, our God knows the beginneing from the end. He knows what’s best for for Mother and has reasons why it happened. He gets blamed for everything, too! We must have faith in HIm and in the fact that you will see her again one day. Aren’t we glad that we have the gospel of Jesus Christ! Most churches believe that we will be resurrected and live again. But, I can promise you that as you learn more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you will see the bigger picture of where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going! You will learn where your Mother is and that families are meant to be together. There are some important things to do for those who we love that have passed away. They take place in our Temples where you and your family, YES, YOUR MOM, can be sealed together for time and all eternity. Don’t fear death. It is a transition into Paradise where we all go until judgement day. The best thing you can do is to learn more and to take steps to guarantee it! Alan Osmond

I promise you that if you read the Book of Mormon and ask in humble prayer as it says in Moroni 10:4-5 , “And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things.”
I did this after I first read The Book of Mormon at the age of 12 and I promise you that this promise works! Keep me posted on how you are doing! Alan Osmond
Shelly, all people are welcome at our church. Yes, marriage out of wedlock would have to be addressed but you can talk with the Bishop and make changes in your lifestyle. How about getting married! This is The Church of Jesus Christ and none of us are perfect. This is why we have a church. Please take the step forward and visit a Church near you and see what you feel inside. I think your view is the right one, I should change my lifestyle. We have discussed marriage, we’ve been together since we were 16 and now we’re 28! I’ve suggested we DO NOT have a physical realationship until we are married, this will show us how strong our LOVE is. Our sons are young but when they grow up I certainly dont want them having children out of wedlock. May go to the local LDS Church at weekend as I do now believe that’s what I am looking for. Shirley, you have made some very smart decisions! Now is the time to prepare to meet the Lord and be cleansed of any unrighteousness and prepare yourself to enter His Church and eventually, have you marriage sealed together with your children more than just death do you part, but for time and for all eternity! It’s Shelley-NOT Shirley! I posted 2 messages this morning Alan.. Yes, we both decided we should be married, for our sons sake and set an example. Our youngest son, Jacob-John, who’s the kind, sensitive one out of the 3 of them, always said we should be married,he’s only 8. We are going to keep celebate, or try very hard, and wait until we are married. Keep a pure body and soul may be the answer and lustful desires MUST stay away. Thanks for keeping in touch Alan. I seriously think the LDS Church is the “thing” I was searching for. Please God, keep our LOVE strong. Thank you.

Hi Alan, I got the Book of Mormon today!I spoke to some people from our local LDS Church, they made me feel so welcome and happy inside. They said they would love to speak to me and my husband-to-be and answer any worries I may have. We are both still being pure and mind and body…… Life is good.

Why do I doubt myself so much? The more I learn.. the less I seem to know. Does ANYBODY hear what I am saying. I want to marry the man, who has given me 3 sons.. I love him, why cann’t God make him see? Why do I feel alone? Stronger the faith…. closer the Devil…. Shelley.
Shelley, God governs with eternal laws. There are opposites in all things. If you feel the Devil tempting you, it is probably because you are doing something that is Right! This is when we must Trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean NOT unto our own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and HE shall direct thy path. I am grateful that you realize that marriage is important. In order to become more like our Heavenly Parents, you must be married not just in this life but forever as we do in our Temples, as that makes you an Eternal Creator, just like your Father and Mother in Heaven. May I suggest Shelley, that you keep ALL of God’s laws and set the example by going to church, fasting, paying your tythes, and do not partake of bad substances in your body along with humble prayer, never waivering, and I truly believe he will fall in love with you again and be married as well as become all of those things that I just mentioned. Have your family and friends also pray for you. You will be in my prayers!

I promise you that the spirit will be with you when you try to keep God’s laws and He will bless you and your family as you get closer to HIm. Your actions will make your love for each other much stronger, too! Step by step, you will find yourself drawing closer to those things that last forever and hopefully, you will take your wife and children to one of our Temples and have your marriage sealed for time and ALL eternity!
