We live in a most exciting and challenging period in human history. As technology sweeps through every facet of our lives, changes are occurring so rapidly that it can be difficult for us to keep our lives in balance! It is essential that we plan for the future with our personal and family preparedness!
Do you have “Family Home Storage”? Our Prophet has said:
“Our Heavenly Father created this beautiful earth, with all its abundance, for our benefit and use. His purpose is to provide for our needs as we walk in faith and obedience. He has lovingly commanded us to “prepare every needful thing” (see D&C 109:8) so that, should adversity come, we can care for ourselves and our neighbors and support bishops as they care for others.
“We encourage members world-wide to prepare for adversity in life by having a basic supply of food and water and some money in savings.
“We ask that you be wise as you store food and water and build your savings. Do not go to extremes; it is not prudent, for example, to go into debt to establish your food storage all at once. With careful planning, you can, over time, establish a home storage supply and a financial reserve.”
- Good council from an ancient prophet once said, “O Be Wise . . . what more can I say.”
-They say, “The government will take care of you”. “Trust not in the arm of flesh”. You and your family will end up having to take care of yourselves!
As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we have many opportunities to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. We teach classes in church, we serve as home teachers and visiting teachers, we teach friends and neighbors about the gospel, and we teach our families. In doing so we are following the Master Teacher, who told the Prophet Joseph Smith, “And I give unto you a commandment that you shall teach one another the doctrine of the kingdom” (D&C 88:77).
Let’s “Get NoiZ” for GOOD and become self-sufficient in these turbulent times!
